Personal/Career/CAT-job Dilemma Queries : A Repository

Whatever u do....dont leave ur job......
I m telling from my personal experience....i quit my job for CAT n other exams....my CAT score this yr( or for tht matter scores of most of the exams) is less tht wht i had managed last yr when i was preparing with job...
Reasons tht i could figure out are:
1. You have CAT CAT n CAT all time in ur mind.....this is nt 12 th stndrd exams where u could slog 10 hrs a day n get a big score...
2. u dont have a back up ...so pressure is immense....which most of the times backfires...
3. interview me the panel is not interested in anything else but the reason u quit ur job...n they grill u like anything......

So its better to be in job n squeeze out time to prepare for CAT...
P.S. I have committed this big mistake n noe cursing myself...
Luckily i am expecting to get another job in a week or two....n mission CAT 11 will kick off after tht.....

u can try for cat every year, while doing a job, actually for a foreign MBA u must have around 4-5 yrs of exp to get into a good school. so untill u get to this exp level, keep on taking chances with CAT, also give GMAT when ur preparation is at peak.

or else u can do CFA, which is very valuable course. but to get the charter one must have 3-4 yrs of exp.
u can compare CFA charter holder with top 10 MBA degree.

actually it says "professional work experience in an investment decision-making process"
so if ur in IT sector its means ur in development sector...not in investment decision making.....i hope u understand. the difference.

ur 12th marks can be a problem in campus placements....but if u have knowledge and confidence then any company will take u happily...but for that u have to be extra-ordinary in order to compensate ur 12th marks.....

campus placements are just launchers...the knowledge takes u to heights.
this time will the no of mba exams be cut short ? like the IIFT/FMS/NMIMS etc they will be included in CAT ????

So the separate section of GK for iift / snap wont be present right ??

Its not yet confirmed. I guess the case is still on in the court. So you may have to wait till July end for confirmation on this issue.

Eligibility criteria for final placements vary from company to company.....

hello puys
m pursuing MBBS and currently in my 4th year
i always had an analytical mind but because of family pressure ended up doing MBBS
medical studies is all about cramming and there is little to apply from your side and thus i find it hard to concentrate on my studies
i am interested in doing mba finance as it requires analytical skill
can the experienced ones shed some light on what are the daily job activities involved after doing MBA in FINANCE?
is there an inherent set of skills or temperament required for being a successful manager as i am not a public oriented person and lack soft skills(but i do believe that i have the will for doing whatever it takes to develop them)

Hi , it can be a factor in some Companies however my take on this is -this is not a dealbreaker if u have done well in the MBA
