As long as you are undergoing the training (80 working days, 3.5 months, I guess), in the meantime, if the requirement comes, (based on your preference) you may be asked to move to the place. In corporate services, (e.g. IT), such decisions are strictly based on Business Requirements, for most of the companies.

I'd want to know the basis on which a candidate is finally offered a city after his/her training.
Being a Delhiite, I'd want to be in Delhi itself. How's everything decided? Could someone throw some light on this?
Btw, I've been selected for the TCS 09 batch, through campus.
IT depends on the branch need, business needs and your preference.
Suppose you want Mumbai, but there is a lot of requirement at Pune, and they dont have people for Pune in your stream, Pune is the verdict.
They generally give respect to your preference in 90 % of the cases.

I'm not aware of any other process of recruitment except on/off campus for freshers. Even if you are called for an interview based on reco , you will have to go through the whole process i.e. written, technical interview and HR interview and you will have to go through all the processes of verifications and other formalilties that anyone else will have to go through.

Hi, I have got an offer from TCS. They are posting me as an ASE at an experience of 3.5 years in DotNet. After negotiating from 6LPA they are ready to pay me 5.13 LPA. Can anyone tell me whether its a correct offer or not ?

Looking at the post that they have given you(ASE) I don think the package they have given you is bad,as generally ASE have a package much lesser than what you are getting.
Neway since you have 3.5 yrs exp so in my opinion u cud have argue for more package or a higher post than ASE,but again it all depends on frm whr u have dis exp n other factors too.U can look out for other company if u have time n see wat dey offer you.
Finally looking into current scenario of recession and the brand name of TCS i wud say its not a bad offer to accept.

Definitely u shud have got IT analyst position with such a vast exp,regarding ur argument for position i think u cant do it nw,as dey would have given u the joining letter only after u wud have agreed to the aforesaid position n package.So if u go n argue nw it might hamper ur image in the company.So better be happy with wat u r getting n try to show ur exp in ur work,i think ur work will speak 4 u n can even lead to a good results in future.

I have also got a similar offer. I have got 3.1 years of exp. Initially on the day of interview i didn't accept the offer. Again someone else called me next day, after some discussion i have accepted the same offer. 3 days passed till now i have not received the offer. Can anyone tell me how many days they used to take to send the offer.

Well it shouldn't be much of a problem ,since they will be training you on the assumption that you would have absolutely no knowledge of the programming languages :)
But haan, a lot of effort from ur end would be required . Why not do a course on C++ so that you get a hang of programming !
PS: I dont know how TCS conduct's it ILP these days. But we had loadz of Fun back in 2006 @ Trivandrum !!
