If most B schools switch to online classes (at least for the first term), will you still be joining? Even if it's A/B/C/L/XL etc.? Considering that peer learning and networking are the major benefits of doing an MBA and distance learning doesnt hold much value BECAUSE it misses out on the above. Not to mention fees will likely NOT be reduced even if they switch to online classes. (We may save on the hostel and mess fees, but that's it.)
So if the situation doesn't improve and B schools start online classes is doing an mba still worth it or will you wait another year?

I wonder if travelling via flights/trains will be feared for a long time impacting this year's internships. For instance a company based out of Delhi/NCR (eg. Mondelez), which usually goes to XLRI, will choose another top and almost same level college nearby (MDI). ย Similarly companies in mumbai might choose SPJAIN if they dont usually do, instead of XLRI. ABC is in a class of its own, but I think XLRI and IIM-L will get impacted this year and lose a few recruiters to SPJAIN and MDI. Because in the end there is not a lot between XLRI, IIM-L, MDI, SPJAIN, IIMK and IIM-I. A few companies here and there
What do you guys think?
Given the fact that summer internship selection concludes around the second term which is to say, is around the month of november (or december since batches are starting about a month late), don't you guys apprehend that 2020-22 will too be adversely affected as 2019-21 batch, if not more, if the pandemic continues to give jitters well beyond in the next couple of fiscal years. What do you think?
The procrastinating attitude of xlri has made this poem all the more relatable. #xat2020
Will you be reconsidering going for MBA this year even after getting a XLRI Jamshedpur convert ? Keeping in mind economic impact of COVID, companies rescinding job offers for current students of many colleges etc.

Studious people worried about converts.. Intellectuals about state of affairs... Workers about job status... While apun....
Choosing another B School, even if you convert XLRI?

Somewhere on PG.. 'its pretty crazy out there..๐ค'
People are posting everywhere on if it's a good idea to pursue an MBA in these uncertain times and how they're reconsidering their choices even if they convert - in my opinion very good bschools. These posts remind me of people's attitude in the markets - any minor disturbance and the volatility shows. Are all of you of the opinion that the world will stop still for the next two years? If not, wouldn't jobs surge after this pandemic is sort of under control? Why this panic? Let's say you have issues in getting summer placements. Let's say life's difficult for the next two years. So what? It's temporary. Why can't you all take a bit of risk for long term gains? Running *round* like headless chicken Just my opinion. You're free to disagree with me and drop your plans of doing an MBA, but stop panicking.
Can people from the current XLRI batch give insights about the following queries? 1. What finance profiles are offered? (Would be grateful if you could give a tentative number of offers along with each profile) 2. What does an Engineering candidate in XLRI with no prior work ex in Finance need to get a core IB job? 3. A broad insight as to how the placement scenario may play out in the current placement season and the next 2 years.
