[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2024-26

Hi,
I have 53 months experience in banking with major focus on agricultural finance.I am intending to pursue GMBA from SP Jain.My profile is
Xth 82
XIIth 74
Grad 83 (Bsc Agri.)
CAT 2011 87.9 %ile
I am in little doubt as I have my degree in agricultural science and will my degree be considered at par with other grads(BTech etc.) in regards to placement and admissions.will it be worth for me to pursue GMBA with this degree coz ROI is a major concern. Also my family background is decent so finance can be a problem, are there any scholarship available apart from bank loan??will i be eligible for it??

Thanks

Hi!

Currently the percentage of non-Indian students is very low. But we do have Indians from all over the world. Also, this year a tremendous effort is being put in to attract students from other nationalities. We believe that these efforts will bear fruit from the April 12 cohort onwards. For the BBA program such efforts have resulted in getting students from 22 countries across all continents

Hello Rutty,

Can you please put in the nationalities represented in the program ?
It would be great if you could give us a class overview such as..
India X%
UAE Y%
S'pore Z%..
Any other...

I want to know about global participation in the program..

Hi!

Your degree should not be a major issue as long as you have good experience, knowledge and understanding of the specialisation you wish to pursue further.

S P Jain very selectively offers scholarships/loans at low interest rates to meritorious and needy students for which a separate application needs to be put in. Pl visit the following link to know more about the eligibility criteria and process to apply for scholarships.
http://www.spjain.org/gmba/scholarships.asp

Pls also note that the scholarships are highly competitive and are solely based on merit. Only a minuscule percentage of the earlier batch has been awarded this scholarship and the maximum scholarship awarded is around USD 2000, so you would still need to arrange for the balance fees.

Hi Rutty,
When will aspirants get to know the result of wait list Post-Evaluation round and what are the chances of convert in case of IBWM.

Hi Rutty,

Could you please give us a fair understanding on

1) the number of applications the institute receives for a particular session
2) % of applications shortlisted for evaluations
3) % of applicants that get through the first round of panel interview
4) % of applicants that get the offer

Thanks a lot!

Hi!

If you have been waitlisted post evaluation your candidature will be reviewed again at regular intervals. We will update you once there is a decision from the Admissions committee.

Hi Rutty,

Hi!

The ratio varies with each intake and a lot depends on the quality of applications we receive. For GMBA, we normally donot take more than 200 students each intake.

I understand the variation per batch.. But it would really help if you could just provide a rough ratio on the basis of may be the last intake.. Thanks!

Hi!

The evaluation is only for one day. When you register you will be given the option to select a time slot which is still open.

The students of one time slot sit for the essay/case study together but the paper has to be answered individually, there is no discussion in this round.

Thanks a lot Rutty for prompt response. In the mail that i received, it says that one can still change the streams they have applied for. Could you tell me what would be the procedure for the same? thanks
Hi,

I have been offered marketing under non-placements category, waitlist for placements category. I want to take up the offer only under placements category. However, If I decide to be in waitlist for placements category, I will forego my non-placements offer also. Instead, if i take up mm under non-placements and then defer it to nov 2011, will there be any chances of taking me under placements atleast in nov 2011.

Please guide me on this.

Hi Shravan ,
I have also been offered IBWM in non-placement category .What is your current status ? have u opt for it or else ? Request your inputs .Pls share your mobile no ..will call u to discuss .

@User1,

if u want a very rough estimate, i will put it over here as per my experience and some inputs from the posts on PG. Taking Apr,12 stats only:

overall 1 out of 8 those who apply will get thru. so u can say that SPJ might be receiving close to 2000 applications for admissions into GMBA program. Now half of them will be screened off and the rest will be called for an interview/evaluation.

After the first round of written questions, all students are taken for an interview with some 2-3 faculty members. and after this round arnd 50% of the members are sent back home. the rest proceed for a one on one interview with the Director Mr. Nitish Jain, arnd 75% of the candidates convert their interview call after this stage.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rutty,
I heard that in the semester gap in the year long GMBA program few selected candidates are taken to silicon valey tour. Can you please confirm whether that is true? If yes then what is the criterion for selection of such candidates.

hi,

well GK has 10 T/F questions, +1/-2 is the scheme. other sections have +3/-1 or +2/-1 scheme. So, only attempt GK questions if u r completely sure. i remember i had a -ve score in GK section :(
best is to start with Maths sections, do as much as u can in one go, then do Eng and then spend the remaining time on Maths. GK u can do in 3-4 mins only. no guesses here plz. if u knw, mark else leave it.

do first whats +3/-1 in the exam and do ur strong sections first, since the whole paper barring GK is of the same level. and all questions are low to medium difficulty and u can attempt almost all!!

for GK...read a bit on the current affairs of the world, cover politics, sports and business mainly.
good luck 😃

when i say Maths, it covers Quant, IQ and Logic
