It's already November so any tentative date that you can provide..I have everything ready with me from application perspective (score & all)...eagerly looking for application window to get open....thx

Hi!

This is certainly considered as work experience but whether it is to be taken as full time or part time depends on the number of hours of work you put in each day. If this work takes about 7-8 hours of your time daily, then you need to mention this as your full time work exp. else it is to be taken as part time.

The quality of this experience will be judged at the time of your interview.

Hi rutty

I have 2 yrs of full time experience. now i have quit my job and will be doing two things.

1)be adviser to my friend's construction company

2)Freelance consulting

will the above be considered as full time experience??

Thanks a lot Rutty for this quick reply. But , would appreciate if ypu can please provide the answer of another question of mine that is "If not then if I appear for SPJAIN test and dont achieve a score as high as my GMAT , will my high GMAT , GRE, TOEFL scors will be taken into consideration while arriving at an admission decision?" Thanks again.

Prakash,

Considering that you had scored 740 in GMAT, you should be able to do well in SPJAT.
Also, you can have multiple attempts at SPJAT and can submit your best score :)

Cheers,
Ankit

Hi,

A few questions are nagging me. Can someone please help?

1. I would like to know the placement details of GMBA. I could not find a placement report on the site.
2. Is there any chance of not getting the preferred specialization if not many students have applied for it?
3. Will the classes for Apr 2012 intake start from Apr itself?
4. I have a GMAT 2011 (690) score and have also appeared for CAT 2011. Can I still apply once the CAT 2011 results are out?
5. Is it compulsory to take SPJAT? Do i need to prepare separately for SPJAT? Is CAT prep suff?
6. Do i need to submit essays as part of the application process? (Was not mentioned in FAQ but still asking)?

Thanks

Hi!

Your queries are answered below in points.
1. For placements statistics, you may refer our website on http://www.spjain.org/gmba/placements_update_grad_batch.asp
2. We have not set any fixed numbers for each specialisation , so we donot need any minimum number for a particular specialisation.
3. Though the official dates will only be known once we open the intake but it should be somewhere around April 2012
4.You can apply with more than one aptitude test score, we will consider the best out of those.
5.If you have a valid GMAT or CAT score, you need not take the SPJAT. we need any one out of these 3 test scores. Your GMAT score seems fine.
6.No we donot ask for any essay in the application form

Hello Rutty,
My application status for Nov"11 till date shows Wait -List -Initial Screening .I had appeared for the Spjat with a percentile lesser than 50.Was it due to the low percentile or any other reason, that the status remained so.

i would like know that any b school in india accepts GMAT scores for addmission

Hi!
We have closed admissions for Nov 2011 intake now. Your application may not have been successful for this intake. You may re-apply for our April 2012 intake.

We evaluate a potential candidate overall, on several factors. These are: good GMAT, CAT or SP Jain aptitude test scores, good academic record, relevant work experience, exhibited leadership qualities, analytical abilities, communication skills and other personality traits. You will not be short listed for evaluations until and unless you have a valid aptitude test score on record to show us. Our cut off for SPJAT was 75 percentile.

Hi Rutty

I am a B.Tech grad working with a reputed IT company for over 2 years now. Although I am interested in applying to S.P Jain's GMBA program, but I am confused whether I would make it or not!

Following is my profile:

GMAT: 640
IELTS: 7.5
B.Tech: 74%
Work ex: 2 years
Participated in a lot of ECs.

Please advice whether I should apply!

Also advice whether I should take the SPJAT that would take place in February 2012.

Thanks in advance!

Mandeep,

You should surely apply for the course if you are interested in the same. Converting it or not is not important as of now!

As of now, you seem to have a decent profile, however SPJCM needs a minimum of 650 in GMAT. It is recommended to apply with CAT, 11 score or rather appear for SPJAT test sometime soon.

Check my posts on if you really need an MBA and on How to crack an MBA interview.

Thanks a lot Ankit. I would surely apply! Cheers!

Hi!

We would recommned you to apply based on the details you have given below but cannot comment on your eligibility with just these details. We evaluate a potential candidate overall, on several factors. These are: good GMAT, CAT or SP Jain aptitude test scores, good academic record, relevant work experience, exhibited leadership qualities, analytical abilities, communication skills and other personality traits

For April 2012 intake, we will be accepting GMAT scores taken in 2010 and 2011 Our cut off for GMAT is 650 but you can try applying with this score, incase the admissions committee is not satisfied, you will be asked to take the SPJain aptitude test to improve your scores.

Hi Rutty,

I am interested in the consulting management stream but there is no information on the website about the profile of students studying in it right now, average/highest salaries in India and Middle East?

Can you please throw some light on this? Also, it would be great if you can let us know about the batch size for consulting management and the compnies coming to recruit in this specialization.

Thanks

Hi ,

Is there any scholarships for spjain GMBA,if yes please let me know the requirements.

Thanks,
S.krishna

Hi!

We started Consulting management as a specialisation only from Nov 2010 intake, you will get the placement statistics when students of this intake complete their placements which would be sometime post Nov 2011. We will put the statistics up on our website.

Since consulting management demands the most talented people, S P Jain's admissions criteria for this stream are stringent and the number of participants in this elite cohort restricted. We have only taken 16 students for Consulting Management in our Nov 2011 batch.
