[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2024-26

Hi!

If you are not meeting only our aptitude test criteria, we send you an email asking you to take the SPJain aptitude test. If you have not received any such mail from us it means your application has been waitlisted on some other grounds.
You will need to continue tracking the progress of your application online cause waitlisted applications are reviewed on a regular basis till the close of admissions say around October 2011.
If you need to change your specialisation, you can send us an email on [email protected]. Pls quote your application number in that email.

Smitha

Hi,

I had applied to the Nov'11 intake and I have been put on Wait List.
I have few queries regarding the same.

1. Application says I have been put on Wait List for not fulfilling admission criteria. Can i know what criteria has not been fulfilled? I want to know this because if it is due to GMAT/ SPJAT scores then i can plan to retake the aptitude tests.

2. Also by when will i know the final status of the application.

3. Also in the application my first choice of specialization was Consulting Management and my second choice was Contemporary Marketing Management.
I would like to change it to 1.Consulting Management and 2. Information Technology Management. Is this possible now? If yes please let me know what should be done.

Hi!

Since you say you are going to be relieved only by Oct/ Nov. the next closest intake for you will be the April 2012 intake. Admissions for this will open around November 2011.

For GMBA, it is mandatory for a student to have a valid aptitude test score. We accept either CAT, GMAT or SPjain aptitude test scores. You can apply with a test score or apply first are take the test on a later date and update us with your score.

For placements and salaries pls refer our website on Corporate Partners & Alumni Presence - S P Jain Center of Management, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney

We donot offer dual specialisation. You can apply with 2 preferences but you will be offered only one that best suits your career profile.

Smitha.

Hi,

Great to get all the info from this thread.

I have been working with Infosys for the past 4 years on SAP and out of that for the past 18 months I have been in UK. I will be back to India sometime in Oct or November completing almost 2 years of work.exp. in UK

My academic performances are :

Xth - 85%
XII th - 83%
Bsc.Comp.Sci - First class

But I have few queries .

- When is the time when I should be giving SPJAT ?

- Also is SPJAT scores considered very important or even profiles are given weightage during the selection process. The reason why I am asking this is as laterals and working on very highly demanding profiles the preparation time for aptitude tests is not sometimes enough for laterals which in turn can affect the aptitude scores.

- Also are there are any Indian MNC's coming to the Dubai or Singapore campus for recruitments and what are the average salary offers made ? The website has very limited info. So would expect some more detail about it.

- I am planning to do mba in IT and finance . Does SP jain global campuses offers dual mba ?

Thanks,
An aspiring mba.

Hi!

Yes you can apply for the GMBA program with this profile. If you plan to take the GMAT you would need to score a minimum of 650 in order to qualify.
Since we also offer a specialisation in Consultancy Management where we take students with some prior work experience in consultancy, they may have a edge over you for consultancy roles during our placements.
While recruiting and making an offer, companies do take into account the salary you have been drawing in your last organisation.

Hello Everyone,
I have 4 years of experience in IT and now strongly feel that I need a MBA degree to move on with my career, not just for monetary gains, but also for switching to different roles and responsibilities.
My basic background:
10th 67%
12th 61%
BCA 73%
Total Work Experience 4 Years
Now my queries:
1. With a decent GMAT score, do you think my profile is worth a try applying GMBA?
2. As I am willing to do MBA IT, what are the possibilities of me getting a role of a BA or a consultant?
3. Do companies, while placements, consider the factor of students last earned salary. My current salary is at higher range compared to what generally a 4 year exp guy gets in IT. So what exactly I want to know here is whether salaries have higher chances to get rationalize around average packages of GMBA (Do GMBA IT has a maximum salary bar)? or salaries depend up on individual profile, by also considering his last earnings? Sorry if I have not made my point clear.
Looking for a sincere response. Pls help.
Thanks and Regards.

Hi!

There are many factors which companies take into consideration while recruiting candidates. Important amongst those are, your work exp. prior to GMBA, your perfomance on the program and the projects you do and your performance in your interview (job).

When you go through the evaluation round now, you will be asked a lot of questions around the reason for your change in specialisation, this is to see how focussed and motivated you are towards GLSCM and you will only be made an offer if the interviewers feel this would help you in your career.

Hi,
My profile is:
X:88%,XII:91%,B.Tech: 83.4
Extra C: decent
Work Ex:
10 months: Operations related in a big Indian manufacturing company
18 months: In IT as a software engineer.
I had applied for the Nov'11 intake with the specialization of GLSCM because of my interest in it and also because of my work ex (though its very less). I have also managed to get the call for the second round for GLSCM and is seriously looking forward to convert this!! But i have a concern that i might face problem during placements because my majority of work-ex pre MBA is in IT and so i will be considered equivalent to a fresher!! (Also considering the fact that since its a one year program so recruiters will definitely give importance to previous work-ex)..
Could you please help me with this concern of mine?
Hi!

We will send you an acknowledgement once the change is made. But for now, you will need to register for the evaluation with IT as your specialisation.

Your application number, with the short code of specialisation will remain the same throughout the evaluation. If you get selected after the evaluation, we will then accordingly change your application number to include the new specialisation .

Let me know or mail us if you still have any doubts on this.

Smitha.

Hi Smitha,
I havnt received any acknowledgement about my request of change in specilization from
1. IT Management 2. Investment banking to
1. Marketing Management 2. IT Management

Changes if any, as suggested, were to be informed before 4th Aug.
As there was no reply on this from [email protected] team, should i assume that there is no change in my request of specialization change?
or do i still stand a chance?
Kindly suggest.

Since you have not mentioned your application no. here I am unable to check on this. Suggest you to send a mail on gmba id again to get this reconfirmed.

Hi Smitha,

While filling the online form there is a section where in I need to mention if I would be taking any sabattical. Its mentioned that people who opt for sabatticals are not allowed to go thru the placement process. Fair enough.
But, even though I do want to take a sab, I am not sure if my compnay would allow me to do that in the present scenario(if i get into the course thts is). If that happens I would need the placement assistance.
I wanted to know if I check the sabttical option now, will it be considered final? Cant I change it later on?

Also,I have 5 yrs work ex till date. I hope I am not too old for the course. Can you please let me know thw avg work ex of the present batch? I could not find tht on the website.

Thanks,
Rohini

Hi!

Yes, we will be having one more aptitude test around after the one on 4th Sept. but this may not be an 'open for all' one ie. only shortlisted candidates may be allowed to take the test.

Hi!

This option is for us to know whether you want placement assistance from SP Jain at the end of the program or not.

There are quite a few students who are clear that they would be going back to their previous company on completion of the GMBA, such students come on a sabbatical, or there are others who go back to their family business or wish to start their own entrepreneurship venture post the GMBA. Such students do not want any placement assistance at the end of their program so they opt for the sabbatical option.

If you want to keep your options open, you need to apply and get an offer under the 'Placements' option, so at the end of the program you can avail our placement assistance or alternatively go back and join your present organisation.

Once you join under the sabbatical category, you cannot change it later.

The average work experience of the cohort is 4.5 years.

Smitha.

Hi Rutty,
My profile is:
X:91.2%
XII:79.8%
B.Tech (in Computer Science & Engg): 79.3
Extra Curricular: Member of the Sports Club at work place which helps in organizing events, member of the music band at work place.
Apart from that I have won several awards at work place and client appreciation for my work.
Work Ex: 3 years in two IT organizations with varied roles including dealing in clients and managing teams in domains such as Telecom and BFSI.
I am thinking to apply for the Nov'11 intake with the specialization of IT Mgmt as 1st choice and IBWM/GLSCM as 2nd choice.

Could you please answer my below queries:
1) I had appeared for CAT '10 and have a %ile of 86.55. Do I need to appear for SPJAT exam again?
2) I am very much eager to pursue my MBA in IBWM, but I believe I have less experience in that domain, as I have worked in BFSI domain in an IT industry for about a year. So would it be wise to apply with IBWM as 1st preference OR IT Mgmt would be the apt one for me based on my experience?
3) Also, how about applying for GLSCM, do I fit a chance for that specialization?
Please provide your suggestions asap. Thanks in advance... :)

Thanks,
Abhishek

Hi Rutty,I would like to know a couple of things..
1.Since how long is IBWM as a specalisation being offered by Sp jain?Since 2006 or is it recently?
2.Has the course ever been cancelled till now after offering admissions to the students ?
3 How is the scholarship process here?how many students get it in one batch?
Waiting for your reply Rutty/Shweta!Thanks in advance!

Hi!

You can apply with your CAT score of 2010, there is no need to take the SPJain aptitude test.
As for your specialisation, we normally prefer having students with the relevant background for any of our specializations. Having said this, we do consider cases where students wish to change their background for any particular reason but in this case we see the motivation behind their career change. You are welcome to apply for our IBWM or global logistics and supply change management specialisation but you will be asked the reason for this change and the Interviewers would also like to see your interest and knowledge of the subject

Smitha.

Hi,

I wanted to know about the sydney campus. The website says it would be operational by 2012. When would it start? What would be the procedure for applying to the singapore/sydney campus program? Also, what all specializations would be offered via s'pore-sydney program?
