Also do we have to go thru the entire procedure again, in case we have already applied for the april 2010 intake but application got rejected? Or just citing the application # would do?

yes, if you wish to seek placement in India you need to mention this at the start of the placement process.

Dear Bhumika,
if you intend to apply for Nov '10 you will need to submit a fresh application. Your application of April'10 will not be considered for this intake.
the SPJAt dates for Nov '10 will be announced on the website very soon. pls keep checking the announcements section on our GMBA page for this.

1. 80% of the batch has been placed so far
2.a few students have stayed back on campus till end of month and a few have returned. We are still looking for jobs for them
3. The companies that I can think off hand are Royal Bank of Scotland, HCL, TCS, WIPRO - will let you know the other names soon.

it is difficult to assess you application based on this information only. the admission committee takes a holistic view of the application wherein all factors such as work exp. aptitude scores, academic grades, internships, extracurriculars, awards & recognition , leadership skills exhibited etc. are all seen together. Though we need a minimum of 3 years work exp. we make an exception if the student is strong in the other areas.

please briefly let us know ur opinion on the below points,
1) I have heard that the average salary for the current batch is just 7lpa? I dont think it is true really and think its just a rumour. But still can you clear the confusion and tell what is true figures.
also plz tell the figures- avg, hig, low for the batch placed so far. It will be very helpful.
2)
also why is this thread not managed by someone from current batch of SP Jain.?? as you will see the case with many colleges the threads on PG are maintained by current students of the college, also i think that provides for better communication with the prospective students, as current students can devote more time here and also provide first hand experience of the institute.??
I think it will really be much better.
3) Do we have ppl like NRN, Ratan Tata or others biggies of corporate world coming over to interact with students..?? It is important as it not only build relations, but also gives students the chance to learn from them, and helps in the placemnt process, and improves confidence in the institute.
4) when you join the college for MBA accepting sabattical job is the last option, as anyone would want to get a better option through campus itself. But from what i have interacted with the students is that there are many ppl who have liked to take sabattical, coz either they were not placed or the placement through campus was not as good as the sabattical. On the otherhand i think campus should have enough companies with good profiles considering the brand name of SP.
5) Why have there been problems in placing the students of Apr 10 batch..?? there is much much better mareket in India as of now, so why is the SP placement cell is not able to attract enough companies..? WIth such good studies and global exposure the companies should be willing to take up these students very eagerly. So whats the problem, is it poor marketing by the institute or some other reason. Please elaborate.

SP beleives in the practise of providing placements, and pursues it very seriously.

your response to above qsns is eagerly awaited as these are things which all the prospective students want to know, as the feel being given to all outside on interacting with various sources is like below,
a)SP doesnt care much about the placements and once you join the institute you are told look we provide u placements but we do not think it is our responsibility.
b)The placemnt cell doesnt have good contacts/networking.
I dont want to quote any name but I must say GLIM which started along with SP is now looking far better, at least they are promoting the institute in a better manner. Also the top industry heads of various comapnies(TCS, CSC, Wipro etc) come to the college there and meet the students and have very good things to say about GL.
Also as you visit their thread you come to know that GL is very very serious with the placements of its students and considers it to be top most priority. This is the perception that you get when you get to hear Bala(Dean GL). So that gives you confidence.
Personally i always thought SP to be better then GL, but i dont knw why but from all quartes i am getting only -ve feedback about the institute. Yesterday i went to to a center of a CAT preparation institute and i asked the center head there if i should join SP Sgp. His answer was No. and for GL he said yes the institute is coming up fine, u can join. :(
I really cant beleive SP Sgp to be lagging behind. It could also be that i am not really enlightened about the things the way they really are. Please enlighten.
My intention is not to demean the institute. I am really one of the aspiring ones. But i do want answers to above qsns and i hope that i have done the right thing by asking these things.

I took GMAT twice and scored 640 both the times.
I have work experience of 5 years in Operations and Supply Chain and want to apply for Global Supply Chain and Logistics. Am I eligible with GMAT score of 640.
