Hi All,
came across this thread while digging out info on PG about 1 year mba programs world wide. I am seriously looking forward to pursuing 1 year GMBA from SPJCM...
A little bit about my profile:
#Integrated M-Tech from IIT kharagpur (5 year course) specialised in petroleum engineering
#work experience over 5 years (66 months to be exact)
#Have pretty good international exposure workwise; worked in Massy, france; Then i worked in Cairo for a year or so for another company; Have been working in london since 2008 feb
#got an opportunity to work offshore on seismic vessels with international crew (well above 8months)...

Everything was hunky-dory until i got laid off by my london company in june this year,.the chance to get a relvant job looks quite bleak still as the oil market is down in dumps and is feared to stay there for a while...
That has just all the more strengthened my resolve to earn an MBA degree from prestigious B-school..Unfortunately, the realization (and the accompanying madness) dawned upon me kinda late..i missed all the deadlines for the indian B-schools...
Now what i want:

I want to complete a 1 year MBA course.. ( 2 year course is totally no-no for me for some reasons)...I am writing GMAT on this 24th dec and expect to get a decent score (700+)...
the fact that 1 year programmes in US are NOT very popular has limited my B-school choices to just few...but eeven if i target a few (like kellogs, cornell...etc), there are some further limiting factors upsetting my applecart:

1. I already have too many financial obligations to meet and i cant afford 35-40 lakhs.

2.i am jobless right now and i am despo to get into the groove asap...so any b-programme starting as soon as poss will be pounced on by me. most of the US B-schools and UK ones will start in sep-nov 2009

3.I would prefer an asian b-school or UK ones...

All these things have made SPJMC quite appealing to me.. (I can have a 1 year mba course; get enrolled pretty soon i.e april...at reasonable cost)..

Now the advice i seek from you enlightened ppl is whether i can get into SPJMC or not? whether i should target SPJMC or not? What would be my chances with SPJMC as per my profile? job prospects at the end of the programme...? whether i could be assured (at least in ideal case) of a stable career..??

I would be extremely grateful for your advices and suggestion...
so please give me some sunshine...
cheers!!

hi shweta,

i plan to apply for the Sept 2010 intake... wat is the latest date by which i can give the IELTS test?

Hi Shweta,

I took the SP Jain aptitude test on Dec 5, 2009 and have received a mail on Dec 9, 2009 confirming that I qualify in the aptitude test and I should submit my application.

My Query is, since, I do not have the exact score, shall I write "result awaited" in the column asking the score of the qualifying exam and submit the application or should I wait for the exact score and then submit the application?

If I submit the application without the score, will I be able to edit the column upon receiving the score from the college?

Kindly clarify my doubts.

Thanks & Regards,
Manish Gupta

Hi,

yes, you may apply for the program - we will update your score on our records on our own.

Thanks
Shweta
