I have recently applied to SP Jain dubai & Singapore.
I am a fresher and my profile looks something like this:-
10th = 76%
12th = 52.77%
B.Tech (Biomedical Engg.) = 66.86%
CAT 2008 expected percentile = 87 %ile
I have mentioned in the application that despite facing a huge disappointment in 12th, i secured a rank among the top 10 students in the class leaving behind some of the students who scored more than me (>80%) in 12th. I have also presented paper, project and poster during my engg. studies. And to add to that, i gave GRE and TOEFL in my final year getting 1410/1600 and 108/120 respectively. These were the highest scores in my university and this record has still not been broken. All these things obviously suggest tht i am not as dumb as my 12th score indicates. Will the admission review authorities look at all these things and according to you wht do u think are my chances of getting shortlisted ???

Hi Rutty,
I have been shorlisted for the interview and have been asked to pay the fees through wire transfer. I am not sure how to make the payment through this mode. Is there any alternate mode through which I can make the payment? If not, can you please throw some light on the wire transfer as I am currently residing in the UK and the bank details contain an intermediary citibank account of US and the Dubai citibank account wherein the payment needs to be made.

SPJAT is over but the issue which i want to raise to Shweta (ADCOM) through this ost is that the test conducted was far below the expectation ( not in terms of paper) but the way in ehich it was conducted, there was no proper sitting arrangement(no roll no on chairs), people came in groups and sat together and rest you must have known that what will follow in test.....................
the guys came in group first solved their paper individually and at last few min. or in time when invigilator was collecting sheets, were copying answers ....................
it was really a thumps down ..............i thought that SPJAIN will stand up to its reputation
I am not sure about other centers but it happened in Bangalore ( in the second room at least)..
These people have charged 2000 per test and after that they are not able to manage even 150 students (at each center).
Hope these guys will take care from next time.

WORK EXP : Working as a software engineer in a mnc for 14 months (till april 2009).

EXTRA CURRICULAR : has won prizes in quiz competition right from school to college.
Has won prizes in several technical and non technical events in college

SOCIAL : has been a constant blood donater and a voracious social blogger and traveller...


Is my profile well enough to receive a evaluation call?

hi,

basically, you have to make the payment in AED or USD which gets routed through Citibank in USA and then gets transferred to our bank in Dubai.

You can check with your bank in UK - im sure they would know how to go about with the wire transfer.

Just incase you are unable to do so - you will have to make a DUbai payable DD in AED or USD and courier the same to our Campus in Dubai
But pls informed the person who sent you the email about this

It was well organised and there was no chaos at all...



May be that in first room there was no one in group or the invigilator was strict but in second room after submitting my test paper i turned and saw people sharing answer sheets................

I am in the process of applying for April 2009 intake. I have a valid GMAT score. I have a couple of queries:
1)Do i need to ask ETS to send score to S P Jain (i didn't select s p jain as one of the schools during the exam:sad:) or is it sufficient to fill in the details and submit a copy of my gmat score card?
2)What is GMAT registration ID? Is it the GMAT ID or the Appointment no?
Please advice...

I have secured 86.35%ile in CAt 2007. I have 30 months experience as on Dec 31st 2008. I have appeared for CAT 2008, but am not very optimistic of a better percentile than this.
Also is it possible that i wait for CAT '08 results to be out and then decide which score to apply with (CAT '07 or CAT '08 ...depending on whichever is better?

Is this percentile (86.35) fine enough to earn me a call?

Are XAT scores not accepted?

I will appreciate if you could shed some light on this.

the only scores accepted by spjcm are cat gmat and spjat... u could have taken the spjat conducted on 07/12/2008 and applied with that score...

cant say anything with surety but the score is definitely on the lower side... 90 or above would have been good enough... anyways keep your fingers crossed...

Hi,

I am sure SP Jain will not let this happen again.

However I would like to know if some action is being taken currently.As those who indulged in copying may end up getting better percentiles than the deserving ones. Though the variation may not be much and others who have done well in the test may still get percentiles enough to get an evaluation call. However, lower percentiles would mar their chances of getting a scholarship.

Please throw some light on this issue.
