Questions:
1. Looking at my profile, would you suggest to apply for DEC-2008 Singapore/Dubai intake ?
2.Would 2 yrs of gap in joining undergraduate course hamper my chances of getting a call ?
3. When considering CAT %ile, are the sectional %iles also considered or just the overall %ile is considered ?

Dear Swetha,

I am in a confused state of mind as to what my Specialization need to be. At the stage I am in now, I would really want an MBA from SP Jain Dubai. I really want a degree with an Investment Banking, however I sincerely feel that my probability of getting in are very less. I would like to compromise and do some other course (which I don't mind). Now I am still contemplating on what do I tick for my SS.

I have a commerce background
B.com(hons)

I have done my French and am currently working as a French Language Expert at a Re-insurance Company.
May I kindly request you to suggest as to what SS would be of much help.

Hi,

We do not have accreditation from any Indian governing body like the AICTE etc for the simple reason that we do not fall under their jurisdiction as only institutes on Indian shores would come under their purview and we are located overseas hence the scrapping of admissions to MIT course, would not have have any repurcussions on the admissions to GMBA

S P Jain is not a university and so cannot issue degrees. However, the GMBA program is an MBA equivalent just as programs from many other leading business schools in India who are not universities are. At the end of the program graduating students will get a certificate from S P Jain - Dubai/Singapore stating Global Masters in Business Administration (with the specialization mentioned) and another joint certificate from SPJIMR, Mumbai and S P Jain - Dubai/Singapore reading Post Graduate Program in Management (with the specialization mentioned - we will not mention the super-specialization). The above may change if we are required to do so to meet with legal requirements in India, UAE and Singapore. However, at the current moment we do not foresee this as likely.

Hi,

This year , the admissions to SPJIMR's(Mumbai campus) flagship course-PGPSM - MIT was scrapped , reason cited - some problems with the AICTE approval.
I realize that GMBA is also not AICTE appoved! This shouldnt be a big issue considering the fact that spjain is one of the reputed institutions.

But, I would like to know - whether the scrapping of admissions to MIT course, have any repurcussions on the admissions to GMBA as well??

Also , at the end of the program what degree would the students be conferred with? Is it PGDBA or GMBA ?

in any case you may reapply using the same CAT score as it meets our cut off

Hi,

1. Yes you may apply for the Dec 08 intake
2. No , the gap would not hamper your chances of admission as long as the Admissions Commitee feels you are meeting all otehr criteria
3. We only consider the overall CAT %ile and do not have sectional cut offs

Hello rutty,

I have recently filled my application for DEC-08 intake. In the application, I have not metioned my GMAT score because I am still waiting to recieve my official score transcript. However, I have mentioned the Date and Registration number for the same.

Today, I recived a mail from programe coordinator stating that my application has been scrutnized but will be processed further after submiting GMAT score or SPJAT score.

I wanted to know weather I shud submit my GMAT score (without official transcript) or I shud wait till I get the transcript or my SPJAT score?

Also, approximately in how much time the SPJAT scores and cut off are declared?

Please clarify!

Your profile seems fine but you would need a score that meets our requirements - GMAT 650+ , CAT 80%ile + and SPJAT 75%ile +

However having a score that meets our cut off does not gurantee that you would be shortlisted for the Evaluations.
That decision lies entirely with the Admissions Commitee, if they feel your profile meets our requirements

Hi,

yes you can apply using your CAT score. Actually you need not have even taken the SPJAT as your CAT score meets our cut off

In any case you need not send us your SPJAT as we would already have your SPJAT score on our records and would update the same from our side.

Hi Shweta Ma'am,

I have applied for SPJAT exam which is going to be held on 5th July '08 and while filling the form for it i have marked NO to the question asking if i have already submitted my application for the DEC '08 course.

Now my query is - Can i submit my application with CAT score (which is 89.31%ile) now and update my SPJAT scores later on by sending a mail to you or to the admission office ?
In this case should i be assured that none of my CAT & SPJAT scores will be missed out?

i'm applying for sp jain gmba,in the application form there's a coloumn where i have to submit the details of each years percentage grade and GPA,percentage i'm able to submit but the university marksheet doesn't show any GPA.is it necessary to put percentage and GPA both.if anybody have filled it ,reder me the knowledge.
