Hi Shweta, I have around 6 years exp in banking. I am planning to apply for Banking management. Are lateral placements available in GMBA? When is the SPJAT likely to be conducted for the December intake?
You have to mention your work ex calculated until 30.11.08 as has been clearly mentioned on the form
Regarding choosing a 2nd preference for the spec - we ask for the same so that incase the Admissions Commitee finds you to be more suitable for the 2nd option then we may consider you for the same
Thanks Shweta
Hi.. Just wanted a little piece of information here.. When i apply for the program.. what is the total work ex i put in.. is it till date which is around 10 months.. or is the work ex i would have till dec .? because i assume that work ex has a big role in getting a call for evals .. so is the application considered based on the work ex at the application time or what it would be when we join the course in case of selection..?
and also about this dual course selection in the application. on what basis would a final stream selection be done? If i have one in finance and one in marketing.. at what stage of eval and under what circumstances would i be allocated to a particular stream? kindly elaborate on the same. Thanks.
Your profile seems fine to apply. You may reapply for this intake
Do u by any chance have less than 60% in your inbetween yrs of graduation?
Thanks Shweta
Hello Shweta, I have 86.35%ile in CAT 2007. I have a decent Academic Background and work ex of 2 years in software field. I did not get a call for May 2008 intake. Is it worth applying again with the same score or do I need to take SPJAT? Or is it that my profile is hindering the call for me?
10th: 95.35% 12th: 78.8% B.E.: 81.2% Average extra curricular activities.
In such circumstances you are always required to email [email protected]
I did observe that you sent in a mail today and I have already replied to you regarding the same
Thanks Shweta
Respected Shweta Mam,
I had made a mistake by entering total work ex as "2 years 0 months" instead of "2 years of 6 months" where I forgot to see my work ex to be calculated till 30.11.08.
I humbly request you to please update this from your side.
Yes mature candidates with a good amount of wrok ex do get lateral placements
The SPJAT will be conducted on 5th July 08 details are available on our website
Thanks Shweta

THe details are all available on our website - I am reproducing the data from our site The aptitude test conducted by S P Jain is intended to test a students IQ, mathematical ability, logic and reasoning capacity, English reading and comprehension ability. There is also a section on general knowledge. These questions are intended to test knowledge of current events and normal business awareness. The paper would be divided into different sections based on these areas. The test is for a duration of 1 hour. The test paper consists of around 40 to 45 questions The format of the test may change from time to time but the testing would be on the mentioned parameters. The aptitude test for the December 08 intake will be a paper based test. Yes, there is negative marking different questions may have a different scale of negative marking, and this would be taken into account while calculating a students score
Thanks Shweta

hi, i have submitted my application form last week. but i would like to change my second preference... is tat possible at this stage n if yes then wat should be done?
Please try to help me in evaluating my chances wid SPJAin. Let me give u a brief abt myself.
I am a software engineer with 3+ yrs of experience. Initially I was working with Infosys and than I joined Investment Bank. I had a pretty good and stable carreer till now. I have been constantly progressing in terms of roles and resposibilities. Currently I am leading a team of 8 ppl. Basically, I am resposible for user interactions, requirement gathering, defining business/application logic, delegating tasks to developers, making LLPs and LLps, Coordinating b/w various geographies so on.. It is very much similar to what we do at client side..
My academics is quite ok. I score 82% in 10th(ICSE board), 79% in 12th(ISC board) and 79% in BE(IT). Also, I was quite active in extra curriculars such as, won many prices for swimming (district and state leve). While in Infosys I was coordinating many account level activities and initiatives etc.
Now, I want to take my career to next level. I am aspiring for IT Management, with SPJain or any other college which can give me international exposure. In the process, I gave my GMAT 1 month bak but screwed it completely. I was able to score 570. I am planning to give my GMAT again. Meanwhile, I want to apply for GMBA @SP Jain for Dec '08 intake. I am not sure if this score is sufficient! I am also planning to take up SP Jain's apptitude test (scheduled on July '08. However, I have certain question.
1. Should I wait for SP Jain's apptitude score or go ahead with my GMAT score for application? I do not want to delay the application as applications will be scrutinized on a rolling basis!
2. I have read in various blogs and also in SPjain's website that they need a minimum score of 650. So are they even going to consider my application as i have only 570?
3. How does my experience (3.6 years at the time of possible admission) influence my candidature with a score of 570?
4. How is the placements for "IT management" course? I mean, are they placed in Singapore or Dubai? or some where else?
I have 3 years of experience in IT Industry. Presently i am working in Financail Domain with company who make Online trading softwares ,with the help of those we can do trading through internet during Market Hours . Even i have done BCA/MCA during my Academics. What i need to know that how much year of experiece we need to enrol in SP JAIN Global MBA(DUBAI&SINGAPORE;). For which session i can enrol and, what is the scope after doing it regarding salary and designation , wheteher we get job abroad or in India. Please revert back to me as i am fullly interested to get into it for this coming session. Looking forward to see ur reply . Thanks&Regards;, Jaideep
Your profile sounds fine except for your GMAT score which is below our cut off. Hence you may retake the GMAT or take the SPJAT.
If you apply with your current score then your application will be waitlisted until you submit a score which meets our cut off. Alternatively if you are found to be meeting ALL other criteria except the score aspect then you would receive an email from us asking you to take the SPJAT or provide us with another score
Placement details are very clearly mentioned on our website.
Students could be placed in Dubai/Singapore or India or even anywhere else abroad
