i wish to apply for dec2008 intake for global MBA program and i wish to go for aptitude test conducted by SP Jain. Please advice me when is this test going to be scheduled next in Mumbai.
Also, is this test valid for SP Jain Mumbai campus?

Hi,

I have some qestions regarding admission in the institute

1. If I apply once for december 2008 admissions and I am not able to clear through the selection process then will I be eligible to apply again in may 2009 admissions.

2. If I will be eligible can I change my stream next time for example,
If in dec 2008 adission i applied for marketing and I could not clear the selection process.
Can I apply again in may 2009 admission for finance stream.

3. If I want my admission in dec 2008 , when will be the approx last date for applying,
when will be the approx last date till when i must have my GMAT score,
When will be the approx date for the test cunducted by the institute for admission.


In the website its still updated "Admissions to the May 2008-09 intake are now closed. Admissions to the December 2008-09 intake will open around May 10, 2008".

No more information is there.

spjain website now says "admission to start around June3rd". Earlier, it was May26th.. Looks like they haven't yet finalized on the dates!!! :-(

hey My name is Ashish.Actually i wanted to know abt GLOBAL MBA.Actual i have done my Engineering from Bombay thakur college.I am working in INFOSYS from DEC 2007.So what are the chances of me getting in June 2009.I wana go for global logistics and supply chain management.lAnd wat is the score that i need to get.My 10th and 12th academics are ok and 1.5 years of work experience.Do they take cat or GMAT score into consideration and wat is the pattern of SPJAT is it same like cat or different.What is the average cat or GMAT and SPJAT score that one should get according to u??Can i meet u in person for counseeling,if possible plzzz give me ur contact details.

A couple of Queries :
I gave my GMAT today and scored 640.
My Academic marks are :
Graduation - B.E. - 76% (Agreegate of 8 Semesters - 62%)
12th - 78%
10th - 83%
I am currently working in TechMahindra Ltd. as a software designer from last 2 years.
I have a good overall application - Excellent co curricular activities with a lot of national level awards. Excellent communication skills.
Proved leadership skill at college as well as job.
Awards at the Job as well & International certifications in my field of work.

I am Planning to apply for GMBA in IT management for Dec'08 intake.

Do you think I stand any chance inspite of 640 in GMAT.

Hi,

I apologise for the confusion. yes, 75 is the cut off for the SPJAT. Hence you need not retake the test,

Acheiving a score that meets our cut off is one of the criteria inorder to be eligible for admission.Weightage is also given to the score but only if the candidate is meeting all other crietria. Merely having a high score is not a guarantee for admission

Thanks for the reply.But in the website its mentioned that the SPJAT cutoff is 75. Please clarify on this and also let us know if there is weightage given to the test score or the test score(cut off) is just the eligibility criteria.

We have changed the start date to 3rd June 08 for the Dec 08 admissions.

yes this year we plan to start off earlier as the intake is also commencing earlier rather than Jan as it was last year

Hi,

This year , it appears though, that the admission process for Dec intake has taken-off pretty early - as the website mentions the admissions should commence by May26.

So, when can we expect the first shortlist of candidates - eligible for interview, to be rolled out?

Last year, the admission process commenced somewhere in mid-june, i suppose, and the first round of interview started on Sep 1.
Now that , the admission has commenced pretty early, can we expect the shortlist to be out earlier than usual, as also the Interview dates?

We havent yet fixed the date for the aptitude test - pls check our website after 2 weeks or so for theses details.

This test is not valid for the Mumbai campus

Hi,

1. Yes, you can reapply for the May 09 intake if you do not get selected for the dec 08 intake

2.Yes you can reapply for a different stream

3. As of now the admissions open on June 3rd 08 for the dec 08 intkae., All details will be updated on the site by then. We have not yest fixed the date for the aptitude tests.

Hi,

I cannot comment on your chances of admissins as that is the decision of the Admissions commitee
We accept CAT/GMAT and SPJAT scores.

The SPJAT is alike any other MBA entrance test.
CAT cut of is 80%ile and SPJAT 75%ile and for GMAT it is 650+

You may visit our India Liaison Office in Mumbai and meet the counselor there. Pls call and schedule your appt with her in advance

We havent yet fixed the date for the next apt test
you may send in your application without a score, however the final decision to shortlist a candidate would only be taken once we are updated with a score.

Hi,

As you know our cut off is 650 however your score is just marginally below this hence what I suggest is that you apply using this GMAT score and incase the Admissions Commitee feels that you are satisfying all other criteria barring the GMAT score then we will get in touch with you asking you to take the SPJAT or provide us with any other score.

Sometimes the Admissions Commitee may also find you exceptional in other areas and may overlook this small difference in your GMAT score

Hi,

It takes about 30-45 days for you to know your application status.

For candidates living abroad and who are unable to travel to any of our campuses due to the distance then there is a possibility of arranging fora telephonic interview. however that decision lies solely with the Admissions Commitee

I am Archana .. I am SPJCM aspirant and i am applying for DEC 2008 intake

When i apply i will be having my work experience close to 2 years (23 months) . I worked with infosys for 1.5 years and now i am into Cognizant.

I wanted to do my MBA in Global logistics and Supply chain management and i have done internal certification in global chain management to prove the adcom that i have interest in doing the same

I am in IT and if the people ask me why I havnt taken IT management can i say them ( the IT management curriculum is almost similar to what i have worked for 2 years and i wanted to try my hands on Supply chain and i am much interested in that)

Is the Global logistics and supply chain management is more towards manufacturing and logistics domain but i have been working in HEALTHCARE for 2 years in both the companies. Does this domain change affect my admission process

I have good acads and extra curricular activities on my back

Can i submit my application with the unofficial GMAT score as i am taking GMAT in mid of AUG 2008.

I am a software engineer with 2.5 years work ex.
Please spare some time to answer my query:

1)I have given SPJAT exam on Sep 2007 (92%) is that score valid for Dec 2008?

2) I had earlier appleid for May 2008 but was not able to convert the same,can i apply for diffrent stream this time(earlier i applied with SMM)?

3)My CAT -2007 score is 82% is that sufficient enough?

I have heard that the placement starts in next feb for the Dec. batch.

@Archana,

U can refer to the current batch profile (that of 2007 ) in spjain website. 10% of the batch have IT background. So a shift frm IT to glscm shudnt be a problem.
Even, i had the same doubt, ( as my situtation is also similar to urs)..
Had the doubts clarified frm one of my frnd - who has currently joined spjain, singapore.

It all depends on how u perform in the interview..

can u please provide info on conversion ratio(i.e, the number of calls given to number converted) for every stream? For spjimr , mumbai its about 1:10... is it applicable to spjcm as well?

also, can u provide the info on the total number of seats for every intake(jan or june) and the split-up for individual streams?
I couldnt find this info on the website!!
