On a certain assembly-line, the rejection rate for Tuesday's production was 10%, for Thursday 25% and for two days combined was 20%. What was the ratio of Thursday's production to Tuesday's production???
.9x + .75y = .8(x + y)
.1x = .05y
y/x = .1/.05 = 10/5 = 2/1 ?

Rate of slowing down = 3x/10 in 15 seconds = 3x/150 = x/50 m/sec.So, in 25 seconds, speed will be x - x/2 = 45So, x = 90 m/sec.
Hw did u suddenly got 3x....it is mention 7/10th???

Reduced to 7/10 th => There was a loss of 3/10 th of original speed.

I have a box .the top has an area 240 square inches the side 300 sqinch and the end 180sqinch.What is the depth of the box?
15 ?
l*b = 240
b*h = 300
l*h = 180

180/h*300/h = 240
h^2 = 225
h = 15

k...bt can u solve it suing percentages???
@falcao according to me the answer is two times.

240 = L B = 12 * 20
For 180, Height = 15 and 15 will give 15*20 = 300 too.

So, Depth = 15m.

depth is 15?
breadth is 20 and length is 12.

@sbharadwaj oa:5:3
Bhi 5:3 sahi he
Let Present age of father F,
Present age of son S
Past age of son S1
now according to question when father was S he was actually 3S1
so,

S=3S1..S1=S/3
But age difference always remains the same so
S-S/3=F-S solving F/S=5:3

A and B run a 5 km race on a round course of 400 m. If their speeds are in the ratio 5 : 4, then how many times will the winner of the race pass the other participant?a 5 timesb 3 times c 4 timesd 2 times@Estallar12@jain4444
@Subhashdec2 - Ratio = 5 : 4.
Let speeds = 50 and 40.
So, Diff = 10.
Time = 400/10 = 40 secs.
Thus, 50*40 = 2000 m.
So, next meeting at 4000 m.

Thus, 2 meetings.

What am I missing here Bro ? :splat:
@Estallar12 -nothing sir.ur explanation is absolutely perfect.even i got 2.i was just confirming with u,because one of the guys in an fb group was saying 3

10 % A + 25 % B = 20% ( A + B )

=> 0.1 A + 0.25 B = 0.2 A + 0.2 B

=> 0.05 B = 0.1 A

=> A / B = 0.05 / 0.1 = 1 : 2

Thus, B : A = 2 :1

P.S. Using percentages Eh ? :splat:

Haha!Nahin. Thoda headache and sleepy may be! Anyways, Spam nahin karte hain.Question. -A certain calculator has a faulty display which can display only the digits 1,2,3 and 4. Find the sum of all the four digit numbers with distinct digits that the calculator can display? a) 66660b) 44440c) 22000d) 33330e) none of these.
_ _ _ 4 = 6 number

6*(1 + 2 + 3 + 4) = 6 0(unit digit)
6*(1 + 2 + 3 + 4) + 6 = 6 6(tens digit)

and so on

so , number will be = 66660

@Estallar12 bhai natmastak pranam \\____O//

M= total men
W = total women

3552= M+W
let X be total amount he had0( which he was able to pay only some men and some women.)

X= (M/9)*45+(W/12)*60
X=5M+ 5W
x=5(M+W)
x=3552*5=17760

17760?

x + y = 3552
45x/9 + 60y/12 = 5x + 5y = 5(x + y) = 5*3552 = 17760
