A watch gains 2% per hour when the temperature is in the range of 40-50 degree C and it loses at the same rate when the temperature is in the range of 20-30 degree C. However, the watch owner is fortunate since it runs in time in all other temperature ranges. On a sunny day, the temperature started soaring up from 8:00 am in the morning at the uniform rate of 2 degree per hour and sometimes during the afternoon it started coming down at the same rate. Find what time will it be by the watch at 7:00 pm if at 8:00 am the temperature was 32 degree C and at 4 pm it was 40 degree C.

a) 6:55 pm
b) 7:09 pm
c) 7:05: 32 pm
d) None of these

Plz give answer along with explanation.

Let total number of men be x and total number of women be y
Married men= Married women
0.45x=.25y
x/y=5/9

Now %age married=(.45x+.25y)*100/x+y
Divide by y
and substitute x/y=5/9

=(.45*5/9 + .25)*100 / (5/9)+1
=32.14%

yeah but the second line mentions that with 45 men he completed 2.5 km in 100 days so in 300 days he can oly complete 7.5kms which is half of the real work. so oly you are getting that variable answer.

let the population of men be X and that of women be Y
now according to the question
.45 X are married men and .25Y are married women
as only a men married only 1 women
s
.45X= .25Y

X/Y=5/9
X=5k and Y=9k

now find the %of married people
total married will be
[5k*(.45) + 9k*(.25) ]/14K= 32.14

Mr. A is a computer programmer. He is assigned three jobs for which time is allotted in the ratio of 5:4:2 (jobs are needed to be done individually). But due to some technical snag, 10% of the time allotted for each job gets wasted. Thereafter, owing to the lack of interest, he invests only 40%, 30% and 20% of the hours of what was actually allotted to do the three jobs individually. Find how much percentage of the total time is the time invested by A.
