How many numbers between 1 to 1000 are not divisible by 2,3 or 5?1000*1/2*2/3*4/5=1000*4/15=800/3=266What is the logic behind this solution???

Bro read the question properly. i m dead sure my answer should be right.

bhai this approach is simple + less time consuming....follow this approach...
1000*1/2*2/3*4/5=1000*4/15=800/3=266
ur getting 265 but it is 266
@vbhvgupta said:
yar didnt get the logic?
ok for the time being let us represent
0 as P
1 as Q
2 as R
3 as S
4 as T
5 as U

i.e a counting system with base as 6 and P,Q,R,S,T,U are the digits
now if I tell you that when you convert 100 into base 6 you get 244, so how would you represent it?
244 = RTT correct?

So, based on the same logic if the digits of a base system 6 are represented by 0,1,4,6,8,9. then 244 would be represented as 488.

Hope that clears.

@chandrakant.k yar tumhe ye samajh me aaya???
Yes. I had misread the question and the question decieved me perfectly :banghead:
see the questions says use any prime digit which means 2 3 5 7 wont be there in the numbers that he write
So out of 10 , 6 are left so the 100th digit in base 6 will be the answer. this needs to be converted in the given number format i.e. 0 1 4 6 8 9

answer should be approx 50?

154?
(2w+3m)*4 = (3w+2m)*5
equate m in terms of w

It is 154

2W+3M=25%
3W+2M=20%
Solving W and M,
W=2%=50 days
M=7%=100/7 days
Money for one complete work=50*44
Man's earning each day=50*44/(100/7) =154
(2W+3M)*4 = (3W+2M)*5
solving we get
1W= (7/2)M
hence if i woman gets 44. 1 man should get (7/2) times that of woman.. Hence 154

@vbhvgupta I agree with @iLoveTorres. I was sure he was wrong, but the question does say between 1-1000, which means neither 1 or 1000 can be considered.

me too not sure thats y posted the Q...
but i thought the approach seems to be rite.
1000*1/2*2/3*4/5=1000*4/15=800/3=266

2W+3M can do in 4 days

=>4*(2w+3m) can do in 1 day

similarly 5*(3w+2m) can do in 1 day

=>8w+12m = 15w+10m
=>m = (7/2)w

hence man gets (7/2)*44 = 154.

Even if you use this method with 999 in place, the answer goes wrong. I'm not sure if this method usage is right (there may be some other condition for this solution to hold)
and the answer is 265, verified by set theory.

Yes. I love shortcuts. But don't want a wrong answer trying to save time :neutral:

Q2 How many numbers between 1 to 1000 are not divisible by 2,3 or 5?

i m getting 266 ?

divisible by 2 = 499
by 3 = 333
by 5 = 199
by 2 and 3 = 166
by 2 and 5 = 99
by 3 and 5 = 66
by 2,3 and 5 = 33

total no. = 999
not divisible by 2,3 or 5 = 999 - 499 - 333 - 199 + 166 + 99 + 66 - 33 = 266@vbhvgupta
