In a race of 300m, Abhishek beats Bijay by 30m while Bijay beats Chandan by 50m. By what distance should Abhishek beat Chandan in the same race?
1) 80m
2) 40m
3) 160
4) 75
@VISHAL.SHARMA20 :75..

as the speed of B:C = 6 : 5

hence A:B:C = 2.25 : 2.7 : 3

hence distance of defeat = 75 m

A/B =300/270

B/C= 300/250

So A/C = 300/225

beats by 75

@The_Loser said:

Case I - When the repeated digit is from 1 to 9.

1.) When the repeated digit occupy the first place from left.
--- 9C1*9C1*9!

2.) When some other digit
occupies the first place from left. (other than Zero and the repeated digit).
--- 9C1*9C2*8*8!

Case II - When the repeated digit is Zero. - 9C2*9!

Add all. Done! :)

@The_Loser : iska ans ?? 72*8! ??

@Estallar12 : last take 17*9!
@sam05 : tu h kar ye question
We have 0-9 total of 10 digits.
since exactly 2 digits are equal,rest 8 must be distinct.
So we need 9 digits.

1)if 0 is not included then it is 9C9*9C1*10!/2!

2) if 0 is included, then 9C8*(9C1*10!/2! - 8C1*9!/2!-8!)

Ans shld be sum of above

For covering a distance of P kms, a man takes t hr. He takes 40min less if he moves 3km/hr faster, But if he moves slower by 2km/hr, he takes 40min more. Then P is equal to:
1) 22.5 Km
2) 32.5 Km
3) 42.5 Km
4) None of these

vt=P
(v+3)(t-2/3)=P
3t-2v/3 =2

(v-2)(t+2/3)=P
2v/3-2t=4/3

t=10/3

8=2v/3

v=12

P=12*10/3=40
@VISHAL.SHARMA20 40kmph. :)
A student was asked to divide 840 by a two digit number which exactly divides it. Instead, he divided it by the number formed by reversing the digits and got an answer which was 15 less than the actual answer. The number could be .....................
24
27.
42

We can clearly see that the Time taken is in AP ( t - 40), t and (t + 40).

Thus, Speed has to be in Harmonic Prog.
So, it will be 40 Km. :)

Check using factors of 840.

24 is one factor which gives 35.
Reversing it => 42 which will give 20.

Hence, 24 it is. :)
