Need help with this one:"How much time will an express train of length 150 meters and running at a speed of 75 kmph take to cross a man walking at 5 m/s inside a passenger train of length 200 meters and running at 15 kmph in a direction opposite to that of the express train. The man is walking inside the train and in opposite direction of that train (assuming the man does not reach the end of his train meanwhile)"
is it 7.5 seconds?? sorry...6.9 seconds??
@grkkrg makes sense, right answer.

@TootaHuaDil - I don't want to break your heart bro, but the answer is 5 seconds.
ABC is a right angled triangle with and side lengths AB = 20 and BC = 21 . A semicircle is inscribed in , such that the diameter is on AC and it is tangent to AB and BC . If the radius of the semicircle is an improper fraction of the form a/b , where a and b are positive, coprime integers, what is the value of a+b ?

I donot have OA

Again, an incomplete. Where is the right angle?

bhai. I tried again. I am not getting 5. I am getting 7.5 again. 6.9 was mistake sorry. You have mentioned that man is running opposite to passenger train and pasenger train is opposite to express train. in that case we need to deduct man's speed from the addition of passenger train speed and express train speed. I am uploading my solution. Correct me if I am doing it wrong.

1/2 *20*21=(1/2*20*r)+(1/2*21*r)
=>r=420/41
=>a=420 and b=41
a+b=461?

You might be right. 😛 :D

420/41 by any chance? Assuming AC is the hypotenuse...similar triangles bante hai...

Why deduct?Dekho:The man is walking at 5m/s inside the passenger train.But the platform on which the man is walking i.e. the passenger train itself is in motion in the same direction at 25/6 m/s.So absolute speed of man = (5 + 25/6) m/sNow the express train is traveling at 125/6 m/s in the opposite direction.So for a point on the express train, the person is moving at a speed of (125/6 + 5 + 25/6) m/s.Does this make sense?
How much time will an express train of length 150 meters and running at a speed of 75 kmph take to cross a man walking at 5 m/s inside a passenger train of length 200 meters and running at 15 kmph in a direction opposite to that of the express train. The man is walking inside the train and in opposite direction of that train (assuming the man does not reach the end of his train meanwhile. bhai man is walking in the opposite direction to his own train as per question. So maine ghata dia...PG pe ek baar aurho chuka hai. with differeent values...see here http://www.pagalguy.com/forums/quantitative-ability-and-di/official-quant-thread-cat-2011-part-5-t-71240/p-2897116/r-2907218?page=146 anyways leave it...concept understood...language ka lochhca hua

a suitcase which measures 80 cm by 48cm by 24cm is to be covered with a cloth. how many meters of cloth of width 96cm is required to cover 100 such suitcases.

In how many ways the word SUCCESS be written such that no two S's or C's are together?

sahi hai yaar ... the triangles got by joining center of circle and vertex B

144 m?

surface area = (80*48 + 48*24 + 24*80) * 2 = 96 * (80 + 24 + 40) = 96 * 144
required length = 144 * 100 = 14400 cm
