9! / (6!)( 3!) = 84
Explain the approach bro...and what if we can move in all directions???

What is the approach to this problem???
if we consider each side of the small suare to be a........ then he has to travel a total of 9a.
of this 3a to south and 6a to east...
he can take those 3 steps to south in any combination of 9... so 9C3.......
ulta wise he can take those 6 steps to east in any combination of 9... so 9C6.......

let going east be represented by E and south be S

we need 6 E and 3 S to reach the end point

total = 6 + 3 = 9

total ways = total number of arrangements of 9 things out of which 6 are of one type and 3 of the other = 9! / 6! 3!

@KaranGarcia said:

He has to travel 6 steps in horizontal direction and and 3 steps in vertical
So, no of ways = 9C3 OR 9C6 ( Total no of steps = 9)

And what if he can move in all the directions???

All directions?? 😲 Gol-gol ghum sakta hai matlab?

fir to infinite ho jayega..... kahin se kahin chala jayega banda....

Ramesh bought a total of 6 fruits (apples and oranges) from the market. He found that he required one orange less to extract the same quantity of juice as extracted from apples. If Ramesh had used the same number of apples and oranges to make the blend, then which of the following correctly represents the percentage of apple juice in the blend?

A. 25%
B. 33.3%
C. 60%
D. 66.6%
E. none of these

Approach plz

@KaranGarcia said:

he can either move south or east

North chod...south, east aur west ho to??

What is the approach to this problem???
he can reach B by coming down or sideways. lets consider | represents coming downwards, and - represents going sideways. then he have to do 3 | and 6 - .

(i.e) ||| - - - - - - has to be arranged for different permutations.

Here there are 9 objects hence 9!, of them 3 are of one kind and 6 of the other. hence total number of ways is,

9!
_____

3! .6!

Phir bhi infinite....for example he can just oscillate in E-W direction (between two adjacent points) for any length of time...

That we cannot do in the exam time or even in the vacation time after the exam

A cube has 8 vertices. For each pair of distinct vertices, we connect them up with a line segment. There are C(8 , 2) = 28 such line segments. For each of these 28 line segments, we mark the midpoint. How many distinct points have been marked as the midpoints ?

ABCD is a square where M and N are midpoints of AD and CD, respectively. If sin ˆ MBN=a/b, where a and b are coprime positive integers, what is the value of a+b?
8 ?

getting sin(mbn) = 3/5
