81=3*(3+x)x=24??
ΔAPS and ΔAOC are similar triangles.
Where OC = r
r/(r + 3) = 9/{81 + (2r + 3)^2}^1/2
Now use the options. Hence, the diameter is 9 km.

Ram marks up his goods by 40% and gives a discount of 10%.Apart from this,he uses faulty balance which reads 800 gms for 1000 gms .What is his net profit/loss percentage?
1000 grm=1000rs
MP=1400
SP=1400-140=1260

1000g(actual)=800 gm
1000gm(fake)=1000/800 *1000=10000/8=1250 gm
CP=1250
Sp=1260
10/1250 *100=4/5=0.8%??

@Subhashdec2 ans is 57.5%
@maroof10 57.5

use successive %age --> +40% ,-10% and +25%

so net % profit=57.5%

intuition sucked this tym....PA=9 Km lag raha tha....

Er, what options? The solution you posted says "use options" but original posts did not have options so it was a much more painful solution!!regardsscrabbler
Use pythagoras triplets.

i guess den 800 grm actual are read as 1000gm for the customer

CP=800
SP=1260
460/800=57.5%

50 by any chance?
No.. Try again one more time..

i guess all 1000 can be got.. like to get 1 you can put .125 for getting 2 you can put .166 etc.

I used my own created SMALL CASE THEORY method ..
getting answer as 600 .. is it right? if yes ,i'll share my approach :)

whats the problem ????
put x=1.1 ,1.2.......1.9,2
it gives all the even values??

Let for 1kg CP = 100 rs
for 800gm CP = 80rs

SP = 126(after raising price and giving discount)

PP = 57.5 %
