dont have explanation but OA given is 15.

@albiesriram No your answer is still not right :(
Try again 😃 I am yet to get the right answer :)

@VSK1608 If its 13 then each apple will cost 1.083
and then after bargaining she wont be able to get an extra apple as she will be only left with 1 rs.

replace x+2 by 1/x+2
x+2=1/x+2
x=1/x+2-2
9f(x+2)+12f(1/x+2) =12x
12f(1/x+2) +16f(x+2) =16(1/x+2 -2)
7f(x+2) =16/x+2 -32 -12x
x=2
7f(4)=4-32-24
f(4)=-52/7

Okay this time I will share my approach....
Say we move the upper half by a distance of d along the diagonal....
So at any instance the area overlapped = two triangles with d/sqrt(2) as their sides(isoceles) and a rectangle with d and (sqrt(2) - 2d ) as sides
So the area = d(sqrt(2)-2d) + d^2/4
differentiating w.r.t d, we get d = sqrt(2)/3
so the area = 3/9 = 1/3 😃
sorry for the calc. mistake.....
its 1/3 😃

square of unit diagonal... oh my god,,I was calculating for unit square
.
.The answer must be 1/6 then..

Correct

me too getting 1/6 . ...parts are moved in such a way that the diagonal is divided into 3 parts.
hexagon banega na?

Put x=4 and x= -1.75 , we get
3f(4) + 4f(0.25)=8
3f(0.25) + 4f(4)=-4*175/100
Solve these eq , f(4)= -52/7 :)
