divide the 8 friends in 3 groups:
group1: the guy who build the boat(for sure he will go) => 1c1 = 1
group2: 2 friends who are fighting and will not go together => 2c0+2c1 = 3
group3: 5 friends among whom we need to make the selection =>5c0 + 5c1+5c2+...5c5 = 2^5= 32

ans : 1*3*32 = 96

A 4 digit number X in base 4 when converted to base 3 gives a 4 digit number.When X is expressed in base 12 ,it has a zero in its unit digit.Find total number of such numbers?

a reduction of 10% in the price of sugar enablesa person to buy 6.2kg more for rs 279. find the reduced price per Kg.

@albiesriram said:
the sides would be 12,5 and 13
too lazy to calculate the answer
Edit: Answer is 900

smallest 4 digit number in base 4 = 64
largest 4 digit number in base 4 = 255
smallest 4 digit number in base 3 = 27
largest 4 digit number in base 3 = 80

we need from 64 to 80 and only 72 out of these leave a remainder of 0 with 12, hence only 1 solution...

Area is ab / 2. Square both sides of the Pythagorean Thm and subtract a4 + b4 from both sides, thendivide by 8 to get the desired expression. It €™s equal to the square of the triangle €™s area, or 900. C

34^2020.

let price be P

quantity=279/p

new price =0.9P

quantity=279/0.9p=310/P

differnce =6.2

310/p-279/p=6.2

1/p(31)=6.2

P=5

reduced price=4.5

no is of the form 12n
no is less than 4^4 and more than 4^3-1(64 to 255)
it is also less than 3^4 and more than 3^3-1(27 to 80)

72 is the only possibility
