A person has taken a loan of 10000 rs for 3 yrs at 10% p.a but at the end of 1st yr he paid back rs 5000 , at the end of 2nd yr he paid back rs 3000 . What amount should he pay back in 3rd yr to completely pay back the debt.
3960 ??

3960

yes.. my doubt is what i am doing wrong in the following method...

]5000 + (5000*10*2/100) + 3000 + (3000*10*1)/100 + X = 10000 + (10000*3*10)/100
on solving X = 4000 .. wat is wrong in this ..

3960 ?

10000*10*1/100 +10000 - 5000 = 6000
6000*10*1/100 + 6000 - 3000 = 3600
3600*10*1/100 + 3600 = 3960

Q1) aQ2) cboth are based on the same logic, choose x in all but one of the terms and simplify the result obtained on multiplying out all of the terms
bhai yeh thoda detail mein batado....
@mailtoankit wat is wrong in my soln ... and approach for the same in CI .. ??
@swapnil4ever2u said:
@RDN@hatemongerur approach ??
First year interest will be 1000 rs so total of 11000 - 5000 which he repaid so principal for second amount is 6000 and interest on it is 600 total of 6600 and for third year principle will be 3600 ....
@mailtoankit pehle waale mein choose the 'x term' from 14 multiplicands, and the constant term from the remaining one...multiplying, you will get -(2^105 + 2^106 + ... + 2^120), jisko simplify karoge to = 2^105 - 2^121

doosre waale mein bhi same, choose x from 49 of the terms, and the constant from the remaining one...you will get -(1+3+...+99)= -2500
@hatemonger same question for CI , jst tell the approach .. leave the calculation part ..

@RDN ur approach ??
same as hatemonger...avoid algebra, use arithmetic
btw what you did above is perfectly fine, only prob is you are using SI instead of CI

bhai to usme to SI hi use karna h na !!!

5000((1.1)^2) + 3000(1.1) + X = 10000((1.1)^3)

there will be no change in answer for CI also particularly for this question.....

and for CI suppose u calculate the interest for first year u add that interest to principal amount new principal will be summation of old principal and interest ....
now u need to calculate interest for second year by taking new principal
