The men who work for 8 hours a day, manage to complete the construction of two levels in 9 days. If they are to complete the remaining 3 levels in 8 more days, how many hours a day should they be working?
13.5 hr/day
@Faruq said:If the six-digit number 15x67y is divisible by 56, then the value of x + y is
56 = 7*8
for 8, last 3 digits -> 67y should be divisible by 8
y can be 2..
for 7, 1*1+5*3+x*2+6*6+7*4+2*5 = 7k
=> 1+15+2x+36+28+10 = 7k
=> 2x = 7k-90
=> x = (7k-90)/2 = (98-90)/7 = 4..
x+y = 6??

last 3 digits should be divisible by 8
sum of triplets at odd places - sum of triplets at even places = 7k
x = 4
x+y =6

36 ?
_ _ 7 9
_ _ 5 7
_ _ 3 5
4c2*2!*3 = 36

27/2 hours..
for 2 levels = 64*9*8manhrs required
for 1 level = 64*8*9/2
for 1 level = 64*8*A/3
solving this
a = 27/2

they should have mentioned that repetition is not allowed...
_ _ a b
now two cases here again...
is b-a = 2
possibilities :
9,7
7,5
5,3
no of ways = 4*3
since 3 possibilities = 4*3*3 = 36 ways..

Log bhai...I dont think that you have to take the mod..
agar mod loge toh the entire value should be multiplied by 2...cause then d and c can also interchange...
I guess es question mein its
d-c = 2
correct me if I got this wrong..
