N=12345678910111213........40. What will be the reminder when N is divided by 9?

1
@Vipul24

Shld be 1..

N= 12345....101112....3940 ..Hence the sum of digits of N = 45+ 55 + 65 + 75 + 4 =244

Thus, Rem[N/9] = Rem[244/9] = 1..

A trader has 50 articles of same cost price . He sells 20 articles at a profit of 33.33% . The loss incurred on selling remaining 30 articles is equal to the selling price of 6 article in this lot . What is the overall profit in percent ?

Remainder when divided by 9 ..
you can take the sum of all the digits...
so (1+40)(40)/2
41*20 = 820
so 820/9 gives a remainder of 1...

Let cost price be P
S.P of 20 articles each=P1

from profit percent we get
P1=4/3P

Let S.P of 30 articles each=P2

From loss we get P=6/5P2....
P2=5/6P

overall C.P=50P

overall S.P =20*4/3P + 30*5/6P=155/3 P

profit=155/3-50/50=5/(3*50)*100=10/3 %
