[Official] Quant Thread for 2015!

Hi Veterans,

I'm new to this domain. Hence not aware of the posting rules here.

Coming to the point, I'm preparing for CAT 2016. Mostly self study. As per various articles on CAT which had emphasized upon taking at least 2-3 test series to take the preparation to that 98+ scale. really confused with which test series to purchase.

Any suggestion is most welcome or if any ex-CAT taker can lend me his/her portal to gauge the level/quality of the tests, would be highly obliged.

I reiterate. I'm new to this forum, hence not aware of the correct topic to post. Hence kindly guide.

The integer K is positive, but less than 400. If 21K is a multiple of 180, how many unique prime factors does K have?

A. 1
B. 2
C. 3
D. 4

E. 5

puys in the above question y isn't the answer 2..if we consider 21k/180...factors of 21=7*3, 180=2*3*3*2*5....so by this shouldn't k=2*5..since 3 is already a part of 21..

Q.30
Munika, who has 63 coins with her, has seven sons, with each of them of a different age among 19, 16, 15, 14, 12, 10 and 5 years. She decides to distribute the coins with her among the seven of her sons in such a way that the number of coins received by each of them is a distinct number less than his age (in years). It is also known that:
(i) Each of the seven sons has a distinct value of the absolute difference between the number of coins received by him and his age.
(ii) The number of coins received by the sons who receive the minimum and maximum numbers of coins is 2 and 15 respectively.
(iii) The number of coins received by the son whose age is 10 years is 9.

Which of the following cannot be a number of coins received by any of the seven sons of Munika?

a   8

b  12
