My profile:Class X: 85.33% (CBSE)Class XII: 76% (CBSE) -this is where the problem is....B.Tech: 8.34 cgpavery little extracurriculars..dat too at school level..working in TCS....currently on bench...3 months work exp..with this profile, what r my chances of being selected in a top 20 or 25 B School, if I have a good score in CAT 2013 nd other xams nd a good GD,PI?
If top 20 top 25 is your target ..there are number of colleges which may call you for interviews 76 in XII and 3 mnths work ex might not be big problem for many colleges :)
ur XII percentage can play spoil sport .. rest is fine ..also u have 22 months work as of now which will be 30 + by the time u apply for CAT and since ur role was of business analyst that might earn brownie points complete the study material first and then go for online sectional tests ( u may do this parallely )u may go for additional test series also , if u need one

The more you practice the more you learn... Try solving as many examples as you can.
Hi puys,Iam a bit weak in DI & RC.. Any tips that would aid my preparations for CAT'13?? I really need to improve in those areas..
Everyone is initially weak in these areas. For DI it's very clear. Get TIME DI material or from IMS...Practice AT LEAST 2 sets daily. Keep doing until your intuition starts working. Apart from that solving old CAT papers which are freely available on net will help a lot. And about RC it's a little bit longer process. Read the hindu editorial. See the meanings of words. Do not worry about speed reading techniques etc. as you gather words and keep reading speed will automatically go up. And again practice RC from Aristotlte RC 99 which you can google and get its pdf. Reading editorials or other good articles will help you in RC, PJ, PC, SC and GK too...So it's the hindu+RC practice. once you finish RC99 start doing start taking old papers and mocks. @Jan31_3 : while reading the hindu editorials try to write a summary of the essay which comes above the cartoon. The summary can be 8-10 points which you found relevant. It will help in analysis type questions in RC.
what are my chances of top IIMs? if i manage to cross 8 cg, then how much of a difference will it make? does IIM B give weightage to the exact acadmic scores or it gives equal weigtage to all above a threshold, like IIM A which gives all those above 80% in acads of each the same score???

bhai kafi tagda profile hai...if you cross 8 cgpa..then except IIM S,all IIMs as well as SPjain will give you calls

Ended the 2012 season with cat score of 85.80...started prep for season 2013. X : 79.8% XII : 72.2% Btech : 72.26% Work exp : 28 Months in R&D; wing of an mnc. Extra Curriculars : 1. Won several awards for Elocution (English,Hindi,malayalam), recitation (English,Hindi,Malayalam, Sanskrit), Dance Items in school level and district level... participated in state level. Selected as Arts Champion in 4th standard. 2. House Captain in School and led the team to win the Sports championship for the year. 3. Fun Club member in team : organizing of farewell parties, team outings etc 4. Received highest performance rating for relative rating among team members. 5. Attended a conference as compere.
What are my chances to get into the tier 1 colleges.
