same in my case buddy....TIME materials are good...buy ARUN SHARMA(QA,VARC,LRDI), solve questions in PagalGuy prep, give mock tests in 2-3 institutes mock series...we will crack CAT.. :)
@vikelec Since u have already dont CAT one time I think you sud hav prepared quite a lot. You can now enroll for TIME correspondence classes and prepare on your own. Work out as many problems as time permits. Personally, I feel that instead of commuting between home and coaching center, you can utilize your time fruitfully by preparing. TIME allows you take up mock exams (AIMCATS) , even when u do correspondence course. So this would gear you up for CAT2013 :)

Hello Tushar,
If you quit your job to prepare for CAT, you should be able to prove your 1year gap during interviews. For this you could probably take part in some family business or in a friend's entrepreneurial venture during the break and simultaneously prepare for CAT.
If these options are not available, I would suggest you to continue with your work and prepare for CAT simultaneously.
Hi all, I am new to pagalguy.I am completely fed up with va.(quant:99.82 and va:65.21).(cmat: quant:100/100, va:46/100) Kindly suggest some steps in this regard.Yes, I read newspaper everyday but still could not understand passages in exam.Yes, i have read Norman Louis. And yes, I will definitely blow cat this time.
Hi...
The Verbal Section is quite tough in CAT and the passages are long. To prepare for this, the only option is to do more and more passages and time yourself. Practice speed reading.
Take the previous year passages from mock papers and original papers, and try to read and answer the questions in minimum time. After this, read the passage slowly, use a dictionary to understand new words. Keep a book of all the new words you learn and keep revising the same. Identify the mistakes you have made in answering the comprehension question and understand your mistakes.
As much as taking mock tests is important, you need to work out the paper again to make sure you don't repeat mistakes

@TONYMBA@topgun741@ibad786@Niveditya@IIMONLY@vikelec From Business Standard article on one-year mba at IIMs - www.business-standar..."The admission criteria are holistic and, while incredibly difficult, don't lay undue emphasis on just one marker of brilliance – test scores. International schools have long insisted on well-rounded candidates. Stanford has refused admission to 800/800 GMAT test scorers over the years because they fell short on other criteria, and the GMAT score range at Harvard is 570-790. The IIMs are following the same approach. The admission process spans shortlisting on the basis of the GMAT score, in-depth mission statements, essays capturing past work experience and case studies that check a candidate's ability to provide solutions to real-world business problems. Thereafter, interviews are conducted by IIM faculty across the globe.Importantly, there is no GMAT score cutoff for the shortlisting and the admissions committee considers everything that hints at a potential leader – from a candidate's extracurricular interests to the stray dogs she saved working for an NGO. The alumni of the course are proud to say that despite scoring a 650 in GMAT, you can gain admission. The lower emphasis on percentiles isn't a sign of a substandard admission process, but of a progressive and world-class approach to finding well-rounded managerial talent."

bhai you are talking about PGPX programme(1 year)....we are talking about PGP programmes (2 year)..
@TONYMBA Bhai I am sharing for everyone's benefit who is worried sick after giving CAt. like me. CAT based admission only looks at one side of a person. I would rather be treated as a whole person. PS - The PGP at IIMs and any other school is not an MBA!!! Its a masters in management course (pre-MBA course) and is not certified as an MBA by the international body unlike the one-year MBA at IIM. read this too.. . I am sharing so people stress less.

you better ask about this to IIM puys who are pursuing PGP(2 year programme)....anyways will look into the details if any new criteria or procedure had come into play
@TONYMBA from the same article - "In response to readers' requests, I am listing links to the accreditation page on Association of MBA's website, which accredits the one-year full-time course at IIM Lucknow (IPMX), the same course at SP Jain, Mumbai, called PGPM, and the same course at MDI, Gurgaon, called NMP, as MBAs and the two-year PGP at these places as Masters in Business and Management (MBM or MIM) – a course for candidates without work experience.
