[Official] CAT 2013 Aspirants

Hi , This is my 3rd season of MBA Entrance exams. Earlier , I was pretty choosy with the forms/exams to be filled up but now I am pretty desperate to get into any of the top 25 colleges..
I wrote CMAT,NMAT(2 attempts) ,CAT,IIFT, SNAP & now XAT.. I am pretty exhausted although I do know the importance of having a good momentum for XAT. I can't even sit & concentrate while writing a full 2:30 hour test. How do I regain the momentum just for this last exam ?

what's the difference btw mba degree , pgdm , pgpm ets several other degree courses offered in B schoolz and which one is better to opt ?

frnds i am getting calls from Unitedworld school of business and New delhi institute of management these days.. they are organising a GD round in my city. I am from Guwahati. How are these colleges.. can anyone help. plz

Hello Friends.....Myself Umesh Jagtap......I have recently completed my B.E.Mech from PU and i'm still in search of a relevant job.....I have recently enrolled in T.I.M.E for CAT classes.....i wanted to know that if i give CAT 2014 without any work experience which colleges i would most certainly miss(please tell about IIM's too)....its not that i dont want to work.....but inflation is the reason for no jobs......Please do reply quickly....asap

I have a engg agg of 60% .....but then too for which IIM i would be inelegible(being too optimistic).....but asking as i m unaware of it.....

how is the pg diploma in GBO offered by SRCC?

I am studying in one of India's premier Engg college. I was a good student thought my school life but my grades in colleges are nowhere near exceptional. I am in 3rd year and my CGPA is only 6.1. I have 90% plus in 10th and 12th and have represented my school as well as my college in various tennis tournaments.

Supposing I have a decent score in CAT(97 percentile above), Do I have a chance of getting into any of the IIMs?(Please note that I will have no wok experience and My cgpa is also not exceptional)

P

Merry Christmas to all frnds and wish you all to have good results in the coming year.....🍻🍻🍻

can i pay demand draft at 26/12/2013 for dfs, du for MBE and MFC.

i already filled the application form only fee payment is pending

Is is true that IIM-C has changed percentage requirements in both class X and XII to 80%??
I have 86.4% marks in Xth and 72.5 in XIIth .Does this makes me ineligible for selection to IIM-C??
General male engineer.....no work exp, decent extracurriculars, 68% in graduation upto 3rd year.
If percentile isn't good enough and I don't get good calls ,then should I go for job and come back with some work experience or try again the next year??
Puys please help me......!!!

I m a bba final year student . my scores are 10-83% , 12-73% , graduation - 71% ( for two years) . I want to do mba from nibm pune . will I m eligible for this???? and I also want to know the 2012 cat and atma cut off of nibm Pune.

thanks in advance πŸ˜ƒ

For all those still wondering why they shall fill the FMS BHU form. I have jotted down few candid points for consideration :

1. ROI is one of the best in country. (1 lakh se kam invest karke 6 lakh ki naukri better hai than 14 lakh laga ke 7 lakh ki pana :p)

2. 45 years old history. (Resulting in alumnus reaching the top and hence helping their alma mater)

3. BHU Tag (Older than this faculty is the university, known worldwide and respected... you get the respect accordingly)

4. Campus ( 4500 acre of awesome diversity )

5. Low Cut-Offs ( Though it might start a debate.. but frnds it serves as one of the best backups if you don't make it to an A League College)

6. Higher call for GD/PI. ( This year 6 people/ seat compared to 4/seat last year, would be called for the GD/PI, hence your chances are increased.. )

Spiritual Quotient : Is it relevant in higher Education?

Right-brained individuals are artistic, creative, emotional and good at big picture thinking while the left brained individuals are analytical, logical and comfortable with numbers. Believing in this conventional wisdom, we quickly jump to the conclusion that those who consistently operate from their right brain have a high Emotional Quotient (EQ) while those with an active left -brain have a high Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Preponderance of this traditional view of the human brain leads to erroneous career choices, limiting behaviors and in some cases psychosocial disorders such as identity crisis, social alienation, anxiety and depression.

Between the two hemispheres of the brain, there exists a group of fibres. These fibres connect the distant neurons that reside in the right and the left side of the brain in a way that they function together. For example, if you enter a friend's house and observe a nice looking chair, while the signals about the contours and aesthetics of the chair are processed by the right half of the brain, your friends' comment regarding its factual aspects will be registered by the left half of the brain. Thus, different nerve centres across the brain get activated to grasp a holistic experience of observing the chair. If this is the case then stereotyping individuals as IQ-driven or EQ- driven becomes a baseless exercise of an ignorant mind. Rather the endeavor should be how to expose the entire brain to varied experiences so that different nerve centres continue to make connections to enable a holistic development of the individual. In layman's term neuroscientists refer to this phenomenon as β€œrewiring the brain”.

Even if we train ourselves to dissolve this dichotomy between IQ and EQ, the holistic development is not complete until and unless the Spiritual Quotient (SQ) does not become a part of this trilogy. In the simplest form spirituality by itself is religion agnostic and it refers to an alignment of the individual to a higher purpose to accomplish worthy goals.

It is interesting to note that with the right combination of IQ and EQ, society can produce an intelligent, ambitious, relationship oriented investment banker working on the Wall Street capable of raking in millions of dollars for himself. As part of his EQ, if the empathy is high, this individual may exhibit philanthropic tendencies that will benefit the masses. But typically these altruistic actions come alongside a desire of material gratification. On the other hand, with the right combination of IQ, EQ and SQ the society gifts itself individuals such as Swami Vivekananda, Swami Chinamayananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and others who devoted their lives to the wellbeing of their countrymen and citizens of this world.

The importance of this trilogy is as follows - while IQ and EQ without SQ may create mascots who become servants of themselves and their desires, the combination of IQ, EQ and SQ create mascots who become servants of God and masters of their desires.

I have a 75% marks in X and XII and have a 6.1 CGPA in my engineering but i have a gap in my engg, it took me 6 yrs to complete because of some health reasons.

Where do i stand in terms of competition and what are my chances of getting a call from the first 50 B-Schools if i do good in the examinations like CAT, SNAP and XAT. I have given the exams and am waiting for the results.

Plz send me your valuable suggestions.
Thank you.
