i am working in MNC and from jan i am going to start my preparation for cat. till 2013 my work experiance would be of 20 months..my academics are as follow
10th- 74% (maharashtra state board)
12th- 68%
BE- 61%
Hi,I am a newbie to this forum and planning to take up CAT 2013 . Please suggest me some books to startwith ! Also suggest some online materials for learning . Which is the best center for joining CAT Coaching in Chennai ? Weekdays will be hectic for me , so I ll be able to spend more time only in weekends. How can I plan for exams ? I have completed B.Tech IT and working as a Software Professional for past 2.2 Years.

@rameshiit19 for joining any institute, consult with friends , seniors, then decide, TIME/CL/IMS are the most popular one's. u can go for class room coaching, or only mock test series. they have their weekend classes for people like you. you can start with 3 books of Arun Sharma books(quantitative, DI & LR, VA), and do check out the previous year CAT papers, u wl get an idea. start with the basics. then depending on your skills move to other books, study mats of other institutes n all.

For chennai ,,go and join in career launcher !! coming to books ( quantam cat arihant publications (quant), LR/DI NISHIT SINHA or arun sharma, RC's sujith kumar , grammar part , PJ , PC , follow class room notes , or CL material , or Test series !! since u've experience , ask the people in this forum or go thru the posts , u'll get answers for ur preparation plan

@getupsid any material that covers all the basic topics is enough. As for the synonyms and antonyms - well CAT stopped testing them directly some years back but you never know (the focus has shifted to contextual vocab now)

@vj1608 No one can tell you your chances before you have even given the exam. Please do not look for such advice on these forums - everyone here is either a future or a past candidate and would not be in a position to predict your chances simply based on this "qualification". Hence the information you get here will be very misleading
@princess163 aim for the best colleges - any suggestion here about how good/bad your profile is relative to others is not going to stop you from doing that, would it?? :)

The coaching fee of Tathagat is very high, will it be worth joining? Have heard the faculty is good but test series will not be of much help as the number of students is less. Which institute is good to join?
