CA working in TCS as Functional Consultant(International Taxation) since new FY.
Articleship from mid-sized firm
CPT: 74.5pc
PCC: 58pc
Final: 50.13pc (All w/o trial)
Batch:Nov2011
BCOMAF: 64pc (here too IGNOU doesnt have high scorers.....so percentile wise; the marks shall be considered as higher than 64pc)
Class X: 84pc (non cbse board) (board first had 90pc)ercentile wise:it should be higher
Class XII: 87pc (CBSE )

Pursuing CFA(USA)

Because of my non-Indian citizenship;it's a bit easier to get admission @ FMS......
All the best,bro.

Regarding your work-ex; you have changed ur workplace a tad too frequently. Not that it shall be a minus point but be prepared to convince the interviewer's mind that you have a "focus of what to do in life". ATB
I am too working in Reliance Industries Limited in international taxation only .
When did you complete your bcom?

Regarding the application rating.... is it for all categories??? or only for general that you have mentioned? cos my grad % is 79.98
Bad luck its for all caategories .

Are you from Mumbai ?What is your total work EX?
Nope...............Not in Mumbai............I had hinted my workex by saying "since new FY" and "Nov2011 batch"......
@Harimohan
But, my Btech %, is calculated only for 3rd to 8th semesters.. as 1st yr is common to all branches... but i believe, iim will def include all the semesters for the % calc. as given on their website... hopefully!!!!!!!!!!
@rockstar24 If u dont mind me answering, why the hell are u down? 😲 As u urself said, u r just in ur final year of engg which means u r 22 or 23yrs old & have a lot of time at hand & its not that u HAVE to do ur MBA this year itself. As far as job is concerned, its really not tough getting one nowadays...You should appear for e-litmus & amcat tests [if there is a problem getting a job from campus]. They are easy & the syllabus is quite similar to CAT, just easier, so u wont have to handle alot of DIFFERENT things all together.... You'l get a lot of offers if u get a decent score. Then there is also naukri.com, monsterindia.com, timesjobs.com where if u enrol for a premium package, then u can expect atleast 5 calls (if u have a decent profile, i.e. Companies usually ask for 60% up). So u see just how abundance of options u have at ur hand? 😃 And as far the 2nd part, i am very sure that yes, u will face a question inevitably in the GD/PI/WAT about the jobs that u have at hand (any fresher is asked that). U just have to come out with a solid reasonable answer to this [Your Coaching institute will help u with that]. Bst of luck, dnt feel down as u truly have alot of options, honestly! Hope u dont mind me answering....

They will not calculate they will consider the marks avalilable on Final Year Marksheets. Common 300000 students marks they will calculate not at all possible.
Evem in Mumbai university , bcom is final year marksheet. No consideration for fycom and sybcom.
@Kia_Singh Unfortunately its for ALL categories.... For reserved category, ur CAT cut-off will be MUCH less but on this front, u have to met their criteria....As far as the rule of ur university is concerned, bad luck mate... 😞 IIMs have clearly mentioned that they will strictly follow the %age calculation formula of the university concerned [no matter how stupid they are 😞 ]. If thats how it is calculated in ur university (from 3rd to 8th sem) for all students, then the IIMs will consider the same. Like in mine, we have to deduct 7.5% from that total %age which brings mine down to 79.8%, hence I will never get an 'A' call.... 😞 But lets not worry as we have Joka :)
@ordinary_guy I understand that ur heart was in the right place...So no worries dude :)
@ordinary_guy :Thanks sir :)

I am a Overseas candidate for IIM-A,B 😞 but a local candidate for IIM-C ( 😁 )

Hi

I have just started preparing for CAT '13.

I would love (and hope) to get the best IIMs but the past acads make me doubtful :|

My acad profile:

10th:95%
12th:95%
Grad(Economics): 70% :(

Co-curriculars: nothing spectacular but decent participation

Currently working with a consulting KPO as an Analyst.

Can someone tell me, based on past profiles that you might have seen, what should I hope and aim for??

Thanks!

Good Profile Sir,
As Per the Current Criteria You May AiM For the top bschools like IIM CLIK, Newer IIMs, FMS, MDI, XLRI, IIFT,NMIMS,TISS,IRMA,SIBM,SCMHRD,JBIMS,MICA etc.
However, I would suggest you to Focus on written first instead of worrying about academics, You can not do anything about your academics, but definitely you can try your best in Written.
Another thing I would like to tell you, IIMs' criteria are damn unpredictable, No one can be sure about their criteria,
for example, IIM K used to assign 90% weightage to the CAT scores, and just after a year, they changed their criteria and and started to give only 50% to CAT score .
So, I would suggest you to not think much about IIMs' criteria.
And You may Use PG Forums For Preparation.

Regards.

Pretty Good chance providing you score more in written Test,
Try to get best in written, do not worry about criteria as of now,
As it is said, Hardwork never remains unrewarded forever. 😃
