does freshers gets a chance at new iims if he scres 98-99percntile in cat???? i am a fresher and have76-77%throughput my 10th,12th and grad... 😐 chances for new iims ????? only thing is that i m a fresher..😠

I am Not sure how legitimate it is but as it is posted by one of the top training insts. as well as some of them are directly from the IIM's site i think we can consider it for now.
What have i observed is .....
If you have a bad score in your Grad/X/XII then work ex more than 16( assumption) months should suffice saying that it is only when we score 99.XXX%iles.
For freshers , there is nothing better than a top CAT Score 
.
But the bottom line is pondering over this topic for a long time will only demotivate and kill the time... so it is better we do basic research and give 100% for this years CAT even if the world falls apart ( OKK not if the world falls apart ... Not matter who says what... )

An important tip to CAT 2013 Aspirants. Please do not take small sectional tests lightly.
A small sectional test of 20 odd mins after you do a topic really does wonders to your ability to grasp concepts.
Especially when it comes to syllogims, you do a few of these tests, and you'll never get a single one wrong again.
I see a lot of people concerned about their past academics required for their dream college, I would suggest STOP thinking about it and start preparing for CAT, as there is hardly anything which you can do about your past. The criteria for colleges keep on changing year to year so no point in discussing about it. When notifications for admission will be out things will get clear. As for now work hard and try to score max. in CAT 13. 👍

Exam's generally in October/November. More than 6 months to go.
and preparation is all about putting a certain number of hours. Some put it in 15 months and some in 5. Of course those who do it in 5 are required to put in thrice the number of hours per day.
In nut shell, it's not at all late.
Work hard. Over prepare. Keep holding on.
You'll make it

Felt a pang of compulsion to write after reading a couple of quotes here on this thread. I see a lot of people with decent profiles already on the back foot for CAT 2013. Diffident nature and doubt has won no battles. If you have talent, If you have wiped your forehead sweat while solving QA/DI & VA/LR - there will always be takers. Yes, some institutes do focus on profile but many dont - FMS XLRI IIML, and many more. For those institutes that do, you can always strengthen your profile, say crack CFA level 1 
or build a charitable institute ....... Just dont give up...
