The MBA offered by BIM is General one without any specialization .However you can take elective papers as per the specialisation you need. You can take Finance,Marketing,Systems,HR,Operations,Gen Mgmt. But the number of papers available for Operations is only 3. We are talking with our management to increase the number of papers and we believe it will take sometime to materialize.

Yes,if you want operations specialization, you may be asked about that in interview.Be prepared.ATB

The cut off for General category is 90 percentile.

Newspaper sites like Hindu, timesofindia and economic times are sufficient .Beware of the news of "your interview date" - that's what normally stressed upon.

Thanks for starting this thread. I have a few queries regarding my admissions

1. What is an original CAT scorecard? I had no idea such a thing existed

2. In case there is one how do I go about obtaining it?

3. What kind of verification do they engage in before the GD-PI? i mean like is it like threshold verification or something else?

4. Is it required to be "arrear" free during the GD period? I'm a pretty decent student, but I've managed to drag one along. Ive applied for a review and I might clear it after all but not in time.

5. Also I would be grateful if you could shed more light on the profile. What is it that they are looking for? Is there a specific format by which it should be presented?

6. What exactly do they mean by looking at diversity in the profile? Is it like the extra-curricular activities or the core field of the candidate?

Once again, thanks vijay and mehzz for your time and effort... cheers

I read in some of the previous years post that, they give some forms(green & Yellow) to fill it up along with the application form.
What does this form contains ?

And i also read that most of the PI questions were asked from what we had written on this form.

Can you please show us some light on this.. Thanks

Answers:

Please bring a print-out of your CAT score, from the site Indian Institutes of Management

3. What kind of verification do they engage in before the GD-PI? i mean like is it like threshold verification or something else?

They will check your CAT score,10,12,UG marks and arrears,if any.If you have any work-ex, bring that too - They might ask this time.

4. Is it required to be "arrear" free during the GD period? I'm a pretty decent student, but I've managed to drag one along. Ive applied for a review and I might clear it after all but not in time.

No.That wont affect in GDPI stage. It's necessary only when you join by converting the call

5. Also I would be grateful if you could shed more light on the profile. What is it that they are looking for? Is there a specific format by which it should be presented?

6. What exactly do they mean by looking at diversity in the profile? Is it like the extra-curricular activities or the core field of the candidate?

Diversity includes Degree / Work-ex / Any notable extra-curriculars etc.You don't have to submit that in any specific format.Shortly, you will be receiving a letter from BIM ,which you should fill up and try highlighting your 'differentiating factor' in that. Besides you can also talk about that in ur interview.

You will be getting that form from BIM along with the form which intimates you regarding your interview date and venue.

It would have questions like :

1.Scholastic achievements
2.Achievements accomplished other than academics
3.Sports/Extra Curricular Activities
4.Hobbies/Interests
5.Highlight your Personality,Strengths,Weakness,Attitudes and Values
6.Name the dailies, journals, periodicals& Authors you normally read
7.What are your career goals and plans?
8.Why do you feel you are suited for a management programme?
9.Name two functional areas you plan to specialise in the MBA programme(Marketing,Finance,Systems,HR,Operations)
10.Mention two incidents where you have shown innovative/creative capabilities.

Now you can start drafting the answers,I guess and keep on refining them .On receiving the form, just fill it up with your refined answers. Be careful here,as you know, most of the PI questions would be from that.

Its mentioned that there are seven GD/PI centers across country, can we choose one of them from our own wish or it will be provided by institute only?
and if we can, then whats the procedure to do so?

Thanks
