hi puys.. need your suggestion on this. Â i gave my cat 2014 and it was a very disappointing performance with just 81 percentile. I got calls from the new IIM's and my results are yet to come. currently i m working in IT and have 22 months of work ex. off late my work is getting really hectic and i work for almost 12 hrs everyday. I am planning to quit for my job and prepare for cat 2015. is this a bad move ? if so wat are the problems that i would face other than me screwing up cat ? or should i go for the last 6 IIM's if at all i get one ? Â my profile Xth - 83 , XIIth - 91 , B.E - 7.1 , work ex - 22 months as of now , not much in extra curricular , NC-OBC.Â

***NEW IIMs WL Scenario last year***
For those people who constantly query about new IIMs WL movement. I was in the WL last year and I am pretty sure of how things moved. This is from my memory, a couple of numbers could be wrong, but more or less it will be in the range of +/-20.
Actually there were a lot of problems last year. A big story in itself. To start off with...
They published the first list only on 16th May (Raipur website claimed to come out with their results on "May 10th (tentatively)" , I guess this year too they have mentioned that date :P) , only to find two days later that the results were wrong. IIM Kozhikode didn't share its marks with New IIMs. Then they made a public apology and asked for a one week time. Again they came up with results on 23rd May. This time people who were rejected converted directly(Not all). I was in the WL too, remember I was a straight reject at all new IIMs before the correct results were published. I had 5 new IIMs call.
Trichy- it would ask you to pay 50K(refundable) to stay in the wl. If my memory isn't wrong, then it only went up to 52 last year. Remember Trichy is a special case because people who were interested only would pay 50K, so you can expect very minimal movement there.
Ranchi- It doesn't give wl numbers. We have to wait till we get results in our email.
Raipur- The only new IIM that gives you a number straight away. I was in 500's. Seeing that in Udaipur it had moved 628 the year before all of us in the 500's were hopeful of conversion. But I recollect that when the admission process got over I was in 250's (updated wl number). So, we can assume that 250 had moved.
Udaipur- Again these people don't provide wl numbers and we have to wait till we get results in our email. But they update the numbers on their website regularly.
Kashipur- These guys are the most interesting of the lot. They never reject anyone. According to them you are either selected or put in a wl. They won't disclose any numbers too. One of my friends converted Kashipur in the final round of the process. He had a Raipur wl number of 460's.
Rohtak- Sorry, I don't have any idea about this.
I think these numbers should give you an idea of how much the numbers move for OBC category. But remember last year was an anomaly with delay/wrong results, because of which they gave away too many buffer calls when they declared the results the second time on 23rd May. I think if you have up to 400 wl in any New IIM then you can have some hopes of converting. More than that it depends on that year's supply and demand economics. Pray Hard. Didn't help me though :PÂ

Hi can some body help me out, I've cleared both TAPMI and FORE(IB), have paid the initial fees of 50k to TAPMI. I have to pay the remaing amount on/before 20th of may. Now the problem is:
1.I want to wait for the NEW IIMs  to declare the results, if its a direct select/reject the problem would be solved. Now if i'm in the waiting list should I really wait for the IIMs to clear the waiting or should i go with TAPMI ??
2. As 10th of may is the tentative date for iims to declare the result, will all the 6 iims be declaring the results more or less on the same dates or not??
3. Is is worth to join TAPMI ( currently i don't have a job left it in January 10/12/grad is 77/72/63 GEM 1.5 years of work ex) "OBC"
