Does IIT madras consider sectional cutoffs for obc category? I read somewhere that IITs don't consider sectionals.
OA percentile 84.9 with VA score between 65 and 70, and QA score more than 90.

IIM A shortlist out, Solely based on CAT Percentile (Given you pass the minimum criteria which was quite low ). An OBC-NC candidate could have passed the acad criteria if he/she had greater than 60% in Class 10th,12th & grad.

A Quick Analysis:
From what it seems out of the IIM A shortlist there are roughly 85 NCOBC aspirants in each integral percentile range. Number of seats in old IIMs and FMS for NC OBC totals to 723 (A-104; B-103; C-125; L-113; I-122; K-102; FMS-54). On a thumb rule these seats will be able to accommodate the percentile ranges upto 91-92 given that everyone above this range has a decent acad which wont be the case and people below this range will also get calls. However, ppl with 91-92 with average to decent acads stand a very bright chance to convert at least one of the above seats agan with a decent PI/WAT.
PS: Assumed that distribution of NCOBC aspirants is linear.
