today i got the refund of the admission fee from NITIE...as per GOI instructions only 1000/- was deducted...
4th May - I sent the cancellation
7th May - My letter reached NITIE
22nd May- date of issuing of the CHEQUE
06th June- they posted the cheque (after 15 days of approving my cancellation, and 30 days after receiving my application)
09th june- got the cheque and was amazed to find a local cheque payable in mumbai...
no DEMAND DRAFT, no AT PAR cheque...a local cheque which will cost me sum 250/- clearing charges and some 10-15 days more wait.......they could have sent me a DD and could have deducted DD charges.....Even when I requested them to hand over the cheque to my representative in Mumbai (who was holding a letter by me), they refused to do so.....otherwise that fella could have deposited that cheque in Mumbai itself...saving me from various hassles....
even IMT Gaziabad had sent me my refund within 10 days of sending the application through an AT PAR cheque.....
HATS OFF to these GOI instis.....
Sorry to all NITIE aspirants and NITIE students....but I am not against any particular insti as such....just I want to raise a voice against the usual lethargy and delinquency followed in GOI insti, organizations etc etc.......

some useful piece of information for the waitlisted souls ..........
last yr there were 3 waitlists ...........all cleared
1st waitlist 84
2nd waitlist 47
3rd waitlist 50-55
so a movement of arround 180 odd with 145 confirmed calls ..........this yr the entire waitlist (1st 2nd nd 3rd) comprises 179 with 134 confirmed calls
nd given that this yr's cutoffs were much higher than last yr's we all should sail home comfortably

Which company laptops are offered in Bulk Deal?
Last year students preferred Bulk Deal laptops or they had gone for their personal choices?
In how much time after the start of the session does Laptop is mandatory?

Well some updates frm my side.... called up nitie to confirm if my draft has reached there... reply was YES... and when i asked if i can go ahead with withdrawing IMT Ghz fees... again the answer was positive... nothing official but still some reason to cheer about....

Hey even me pretty much interested to know this dude ..... Seniors could you please throw some light on this and let us know as to when do we actually need our laptops ..... Will not having a laptop in the first month really hamper my curriculum ......
As per the posts by seniors (@koolbuddy), we do have a provision for getting the loan papers to be sent for signature from our parents in case they are not able to come there on the day of reckoning .... unfortunately i fall under the same scenario ....
Also i do want to know that seniors have mentioned that they have tentatively arranged for the laptop deals to happen around the last week of June or the first week of July ..... now in case my loan does not get approved by SBI within that time frame .... which in most probability wont ..... how would i apply for a laptop .....
Now under these extremely complex circumstances could the seniors throw some light as to what happens to me ..... i probably might find some people in the same boat who would be looking for an educational loan for their laptop ..... in case i do not, could you also let me know as to what is the approx price for the laptop specification that is required at NITIE .....
Ant help or suggestion would be really appreciated .....

i guess both of u havent joined the NITIE community on orkut...theres a lot of discussion going on as to which laptop to be finalized...as of now seniors have negotiated for a Dell VOSTRO 1400...

I received the offer letter from NITIE yesterday.
In that it is asked to present Medical certificate from medical practioner and it will assessed by NITIE Medical board.
Can this certificate be produced by Family doctor or we have to undergo all the tests from proper specialist for each test mentioned???
Also it has asked to submit character certificate but I have submitted it at the time of GD PI. So again we have to submit it???

jsut called admit office n was told tht my draft has reached there..bt when i asked wheter my seat is confirmed i was told tht result wil b displayed on 16th...
i was waitlisted at 19 in NITIE n they will display the final list on 16th....although i hv got verbal confirmation of my admit bt not very convincingly as when i asked the person if i can withdraw my admit frm some other college he rplyed very possesively bt tht is understandable..since he can not take such responsibility...
wd it b safe for me to wait til 16th or shd i go ahed n withdrawat frm IMI
though personally i feel there shd b no problem bt sugestions frm u people will b very helpful

i dont think its mandatory to buy one in the bulk deal...have a friend who opted out of the bulk deal last year

actually i am in same boat
after too many meeting with my PM i am able to prepon the date a bit
which is now 30th july
so keeping buffer time ( i am frm delhi )
i ll able to report on 4th july at max
i tried to talk to NITIE official regarding this
though they just said " phele DD bhejo "
but on again again asking one of the officer said that not much problem just after ur confirmation FAX us an application sayin that i ll able to join to 4th july , stating the required reasons
though didnt seems much convincing
but dude we ll manage ;-)

nitin6570 and I are also in same dilemma.
I am not going ahead for withdrawing from IMT before 16th. Lets hope for the best and i think that they will refund after deducting Rs. 1000/-
recieved ma provision offer letter yesteday ..............few annexures with it .............most importantly a doctor's certificate reqd in the format attached which requires hell lotta test .............how r u guys planning to manage it jus lemme know

My DD is finally with NITIE ppl
after that i asked the probability of my converstion and also mentioned that i have to withdraw admission frm some other college
ans i got " 100 takka ( 100%) "
his voice was convincing
and ya i too asked about my late joining
he shifted my call to other persn ( may be some senior of him )
he said dont worry just send a request application statin reason for late joining and the date on which i ll able to report to NITIE
