sorry for this late reply ,actually got busy in arranging money for the drafts and everything and a hell lotta analysis from last 2 yrs nitie results thread at pg...........
i have already submitted my draft and it has reache nitie................
i had called the guys at admissions on friday itself they told me without the draft they cant tell me anythin..............today i called them again and i was told that admission is confirmed and we need to report on 19th .............when i asked about the total no of seats still vacant i was told to worry only about myself and not about others.........so people with waitlist above me have a sure shot convert ...............
some more news for others.............
last yr nitie had released three waitlist with 145 odd confirmed calls
1st waitlist was of 84
2nd 47
3rd 30-40 not very sure..............
all these waitlists got cleared and even after this some 10 - 11 people were informed through mails regarding there admission .................
i got to know abt these mails from nitie senior whom i met during the interviews .............and his info was authentic coz he himself was among those fortunate few who got the mails
so thsi goes last yrs scenario................
so guys just stop being pesimists and and start partying ...............we all will meet on 19th at NITIE
apart from all thsi my analysys saiys taht in this list of 79 there are people with sp jain or mdi converts already and there are quite a few who are in wl 1 to 50 range of mdi which would surely get cleared in the MDI list to be declared on 5th june ...............leave apart the iim convetrs ....am sure there still are few guys joining iim'd from this list
so no worries guys enjoy and party hard .................for any further queries all of u can pm me

sorry guys missed out a very relevant point taht not all the people converting MDI will leave NITIE ....................but looking at it from other way round there will definitely be some guys who will join MDI
although my wit says something else ........................
I guess NITIE and MDI ...institutes of this repute are much above all comparisons

I thought of sharing my experience with you as it might give some of you something to cheer about and also have lesser number of sleepless nights . I was on the 1st waitlist at NITIE. i was W/L 4. To be honest, I had gone through the same emotional phase that all of you are going through. I had 3 converts apart from this which included the likes of IMT(G), SiBM Pune, MDI and IMI but my love for NITIE made me keep my fingers crossed. I always believed that a W/L 4 was no big deal.
However whenever i called up the admissions office at NITIE, the only reply i got was that my waitlist would easily get converted. They kept on emphasising to send the drafts at the earliest. The moment they received the drafts, they gave me a VERBAL nod confirming my admission. Nothing in writing in the meanwhile, mind you. Nor was there any confirmation thru emails.
My nights went from bad to worse, sleeplessness became a habit and rather a very normal day in the park. to my surprise, there was no confirmation in writing even after the second waitlist was released which according to me was weird since the second w/l comes out only after the first w/l gets confirmed (if my LR basics are correct). Strange enuf and defies all logic but yet true.
Finally by the time I got a confirmation from NITIE in writing through a printer letter, it was the 28th of May. I had to take an admission into atleast 1 college so it was IMT(G) as it was the only option that was left for me after all this amazing sequence of events.
My take on this:
1. Please guys make sure that you have posted ur drafts
2. Call up the admissions office on the number that has been posted on thr thread numerous times - 022-28573371
3. If the people at the admission office confirm that you are thru, take their word for granted.
4. Party loud and hard ..... :)

admissions will certainly not be on a first come first served basis.... it is certainly merit based but i would advise that you do not wait till the last date to make the payments as you would get a full refund if you do not make it (I sincerely hope that this does not happen).

i hope that you would be among the first people to receive the confirmation letter , however would say that there is absolutely no certainty that you would receive the letter (especially if you look at the way that things have happened for me). my suggestion, dont be a pessimist and keep your fingers crossed and definitely follow my 4 step mantra. trust me it works.
and as far as the rest of you are concerned, according to the conversation that I had with the first year guys at NITIE, I think that you need not worry. The list should clear comfortably.
Himanshu, Nitin, Nikul, Rohit, Mobariz, Manoj, Alok, Ashish Akshay, Deshpande and last but not the least Taru.
All i can say is guys ... Best of Luck .... i hope that all of you get thru coz there are very few institutes in the country of the same calibre ... like the one we plan to join ..... its a great previlege to have made it and i really hope and pray that all of you make through the last, the final and the most important hurdle .... I am sure we all will have a great first week at NITIE b4 the classes begin as there is a host events that have been planned for us which you might be aware of ....

Lot many anxious queries regarding waitlist movement....
Let me answer as a PUY rather than a NITIE senior
NITIE has been traditionally conservative in the number of calls they give out (either for GD/PI or final calls). They try to fill up all the seats till the course starts but as it is a govt insti (and not a private one) they might not care to disturb academic schedule even if some seats remain vacant at last.
Given by my experience last yr you can take the words they speak as good as printed letters
. think yourself ,, if they are so conservative in giving calls then they wud be almost equally conservative when they say u r confirmed !!If they are saying you are confirmed there is very less chance that you won't be joining in. you can pretty much make ur plans keeping that in mind.
Letters are usually sent thru normal post ... so you can imagine how timely they will reach you once they are in hands of Indian postal service
Also, many of you wud be having multiple calls in ur hands by now. Do make sure you check the "Why NITIE" link in koolbuddy's signature. It has lots of info regarding NITIE which wud help you decide rationally.

Is there any separate batch for those joining from the 3rd waitlist? Coz for those ppl who are working, it will be usually difficult to join within one month as the notice period in most of the companies varies from 2-3 months...

i called up admission cel regarding dis but they only said first sen the DD
i called numerous time , one time one gentelman said u just hav to sen us a fax stating reason for late joining
but dude another batch is not cool ....

I have a query. Is it possible to withdraw the application after you get a confirmed admission? I mean, If i send the DD and get a confirmed admission from NITIE and then need to withdraw my admission for some reason. What happens in that case? And how easy/difficult it is to get the refund?
