there seems to a slight ambiguity regarding this...
the highest offer is 20+
but regarding the average...it was given as 11.20 in the ppt at NITIE...
but somewhere in previous posts...i think koolbuddy stated it as 13.15...

Just to clarify.
The average in the ppt was 12.5 and not 11.5.
The revised average ctc is 13.15 after many companies revised their offer for current batch.
The highest was 21+.
Impact, Please correct me if i am wrong.
Seniors: I have heard that Laptop companies offer a discount to students in specific colleges. Does NITIE have any such agreement with any company. If so which ones. Please reply so that i can decide on how to buy one.
So, when are we expecting the waitlist getting cleared? If i am not wrong then 18th we are expecting the clearance of the waitlist. If that is true, in that case do we expect to have more people getting into the waitlist????
Let the existing waitlist get cleared dude 😃 ... With quota row on high, even the existing bunch of people on waitlist will be anxious to know if they stand a chance !!
BTW, yes you are right, the first waitlist will get activated from tomorrow onwards.

This morning I deposited my draft at NITIE. and I was the 74th person to deposit my fees in general category. Since MDI result was declared yesterday,some ppl mite have waited till today to deposit their fees. Being on safer side add some 25 ppl depositing their fees today so we come up to 100 ppl who have deposited their fees.
What I can conclude from above is that the ppl in waitlist till rank 34-36 should feel safe regarding their seats. So guys cheer up it's party time for u ppl.

to add to tht some people (he he.. me) might have paid their fees jus to reserve their seat till the iim results are out... so im sure u ll see the waitlist move a lot once the iim results are out.. that is y we have seen upto 120 in the waitlist make it to nitie in the past 2 yrs... so all the best to all those in the waitlist... n to me...

Ok, other points that I would like to add
a)You have almost covered 95% of the things in the comparison done above. Now it's YOUR call and YOU have to take it. Don't expect seniors to guide you to choose one of these insti...
b)Ultimately, I believe that the placement I'll get after two years will not depend on whether I have an MBA from MDI or NITIE, but will depend on ME and what I am
c)You missed out foreign exchange program @ MDI which is not offered @ NITIE. But personally I believe it is more of a fun rather than learning. (and you have to spend another 3-4 lacs from your own pocket):w00t:
d)Now this is the point that you missed out completely. NITIE takes only engineers where as @ MDI you can find at least 20% of non engineers. Now this is both good and bad.
BAD because you might not get an opportunity to see and analysis a problem from a non-engineering perspective. From a perspective of a CA, an architect, a doctor, a lawyer..etc
GOOD because if you wanna go for FINANCE then its better not to fight for placement in financial sector with a CA or a B.Com grad. You'll have better chance to get placed in financial sector@ NITIE where all of us will be at same level (same engineering background)
Note: I have tried to be as unbiased as possible while giving out my points. but personally I favor NITIE

To add to the question,How would we come to know about the waitlist movement?? Will it be put up on the website or we will be required to call the office on an individual basis??

I have noted one thing. Almost all the poeple who have voted for "Definately Not Joining" in the poll have not even got a final convert from NITIE.
No offence if you have done it by mistake and surely you would have made it through a better college, But It totally spoils the poll and gives a wrong impression.
Could yiou people please correct your vote. I think that there would be no one who is "Definately Not Joining".

I juz called up NITIE office. they told that the admission office is closed today and on weekends also. In effect it will be working from monday only. When I asked about waitlist movement, i guy told that till now no waitlist movement is confirmed. We can try it on monday only. Also, I was told that we will informed thru emails.

Adding to my post, I think as IIMs may come up with the result of GEN category by next week, NITIE may also be looking for further waitlist clearance.
Juz a speculation, anyways results are not gonna come today. Lets wait till Monday for further info from NITIE side.

Had called up NITIE office. Its closed today. Does any one have any idea if the office would open tomorrow or is it closed on the weekends?
We can trace the waitlist movement through PG. Here is how we can do it:
yesterday some one had posted that he was (around) 75th person to pay the fees and yesterday was the last day.
So people who went in the evening on 17/ 04/ 08 to NITIE to pay the fees will know how many people had payed the fees till then.
A request to such people, please post any information you got from the admissions office yesterday!!!
Adding to my previos post, I dont think NITIE will come out with any numbers even on Monday. They will simply ask all the people from the waitlist to pay the fees.
Then they will start infomring people one-by-one as their admission is confirmed. This is not official info but just a guess as to how it will happen.
