First of all congrts for ur decision to go for a MBA......as far as ur queries go..
1) There is no expemtion provided in the international CFA !!! So the only way is clearing all the three levels !!! ICFAI CFA ...m not aware of ! 2) Wen u tak about CFA, its the international CFA which has got recognition. U come to a level playing ground with all the finance folks worldwide .....Therefore, my suggestion would be to go for International CFA and not the ICFAI one. Also, I would like to add one more thing... try to clear your level one during or before ur MBA....it will help u a lot during ur placements in MBA.....

r we really allowed 2 do anyother course while dng an MBA??
r we really allowed 2 do anyother course while dng an MBA??
oh yes...u can do as many value additions u want...n as it is ..the international CFA is not a full time course..... during our MBA, we kept on adding certification onto our resume....however appearing for CFA never came to ma mind....which ofcourse i m regrettin now 😃
well niteshranjan, and that is why i am asking the question..... if u r in the industry, can u throw some light at the moment as to what is the scene in the market at the moment for a person with a L2, and wanting a job in finance realm... I guess since u say an IT engg wudnt serve much value and with a CFA L2, it wud be all that CFA L2 that will speak, so finally what is going to be that will help me win the game in the financial job sector. I mean if i need that job, then what is the scene there for me passing and making it upto there....
kindly throw some light/........
hey ravi,
Since Jan 2008, the market has turned really bad .....jobs hav already dried up, especially in sectors like IB, equity research n all. Ppl r deferring their movement plans....n top of it layoffs....so all in all the current senario is not really great. However, with great comfort i can tell u dat...in a couple of years things wont be dis bad.... and therefore next 2-3 years r best for further stdz.
For u i wl suggest along with CFA also think about MBA.... by 2010 u can compl ur MBA coupled with CFA L2. Dat will surely fetch u a reasonably gud job...

Hi folks..... I checked the CFA webpage and there they hav given a list of job profiles that can qualify for eligible work experience to earn the CFA charter. My profile is project development, cost estimation and financial structuring of infrastructure projects. Will this be considered? I did not find this in the list. My current work is not related to portfolio management services, insurance or securities!
Help me out pls as I need to take a decision soon!
Has anybody downloaded all the videos of CFA L1 in a CD or DVD.. if that is the case if anybody can send me a physical CD or DVD containing them.. i tried downloading but it is taking a lot of time.. so if some body already have downloaded the videos if you can burn them on the cd/dvd and send it across to me ... I would send you the DVD cost and postage cost to your bank account..
or
If you can suggest me a good site from where really good quality L1 videos are available and helps understanding the concepts in a better way...

Hi ravi
since you are already doing CFA can u tell me whether we can appear for the exams without the relevent workex , and can we acquire the workex post the compleation of L2 exams and then apply for the charter..

Absolutely. Don't need to have any workex to take any of the levels.

Waiting for some gyaan:xmas:
As of now we are not allowed to take exams in India and the case of same is going on in Delhi High Court, the next hearing date is on 6th March. But if you are registering now you have to select test centre outside India..
