Hope both of us pass !
Hi,
The results are available .. but i am unable to log in to the site.. is any body facing the same problem.. or is anybody able to log in and view their result????
hi ppl,
I could check the result and I have passed
now next to L2...
one question to senior pros..
for L2, do we have to again pay program enrollment fees or just exam registration fees.. the site is a little confusing..it says returning candidates need not pay enrollment fees.. does that mean returning at same level?
Please tell me..
Hi,
I am Heemanshu . I just have cleared FRM and now am looking to do my CFA L1 in june.I am doing my MBA and due to the lack of time was looking to join CFA coaching by " The financial Quotient ". Was looking for a group of 5 people to avail a discount of 20%.The fees is rs 8000 for around 115 hours of training . (www.thefinancialquotient.com) .THe coaching is in mumbai and delhi. if people are interested please do contact me so that we can form a group of 5 and register.
Hi Heemanshu,
Congrats for clearing FRM
I just cleared CFA Level I exam and although being from non-finance background, I didnt require any personal training. I think the CFA L1 material is pretty comprehensive and in a lucid language. So I will not recommend a coaching class....
Any ways, what all did you use to prepare for FRM? I m plannin 2 give it this year... Any pointers wud b of great help.
Thanks,
Mitesh

Hi Mitesh.
I do agree with you but many of my friends havent cleared CFA L1 .Also the result is 35% and it therefore worries me a lot.I dont want to take a risk of 1080$ for sake of 8000 Rs. Have heard about the coaching given by the classes ( www.thefinancialquotient.com) and hence dont wanna leave any stone unturned.Have already found a group of 3 and lookin for 2 people to join the course.
Regarding FRM schwasers are not enough and the exam tests practical application of a lot of concepts. Start by reading John Hull . I also refered Bionic Turtles + some concepts like Basel II and Hedge funds from various other e books. You require atleast 3 months of full preparation.for any more assistance to mail me at [email protected]

For CFA, some coaching will definitely help, but I didnt have time for that n I understand that the result was 35% but all my frds who had studied for ard 3 months..... were able to get thru..... was just sharing my experience..... Best of luck for June CFA......

Does anyone know where can we find photocopied Schweser notes? I have heard they are available somewhere outside NM college in Mumbai and I guess Dariyaganj in Delhi. Is that true, and if so where exactly is the location? Also does anyone know where can i find photocopied CAIA level 1 Schweser notes? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All,
I am a CFA Level 1, June 2009 aspirant. The December results came jus a couple of days back...nd it was 35 %.
I would request all the members who cleared as well as who wernt able to clear...to post their scores. As in bucket wise breakup of all the 10 subjects.
This will probably help all of us to get some feel of the cut off ....and den probably v all can plan accordingly !!!
Till den happy studying ....

Just aim at getting 70%+ in all sections and don't worry about the border case scenarios.
Dats true !!! 70+ bucket in all 10 ... n u through 😃
Hiii all, congratulations for ur success at CFA L1 exams:....
Well my questions here pertains to the scenario after the all the LEVEL exams.
What I wish to ask is that what is the job scenario in the financial sector.especially focusing on the areas where CFA is relevant like, research, inv management etc.
Like before, it was that a person with L2 and a good bachelors could get a package say around 5lpa....what is the scenario now?????
I wish to look at the scenario from the practical point of view...
1)where does the market stand at the moment given the job scenario is so grim and there are so many people already out there 'JOBLESS' and how are the new entrants going to fit in.......
Can someone shed some light on this??????
HI Ravi,
My take on this would be....a Grad + CFA L1...wont be able to fetch u a great package. My suggestion would be a MBA + CFA. A decent MBA could itself get u in 7-8 L bucket...and once u complete ur CFA add premium on it. Completing L1 before or during MBA would be the most ideal situation !!!
Good Luck .......
Nitesh
ravi_dce Sayswell i am certainly not an MBA at the moment....and i am due giving my CFA L1 in dec as i had postponed my plans. but i have an engg degree in the same damn IT thing.... so with L1 and L2 cleared wat do u think the scope wud be.....
Well certainly, a CFA degree is a value addition for a candidate related to the finance. However, it would be really difficult to comment the level of benefit u can get after L2. Morever, ur IT engg thing wont go really well with a CFA degree. Frankly speaking, u wl have to discount ur engg...watever opp u wl get wl be because of L2.

Hi Sheetal,
First of all congrts for ur decision to go for a MBA......as far as ur queries go..
1) There is no expemtion provided in the international CFA !!! So the only way is clearing all the three levels !!! ICFAI CFA ...m not aware of !
2) Wen u tak about CFA, its the international CFA which has got recognition. U come to a level playing ground with all the finance folks worldwide .....Therefore, my suggestion would be to go for International CFA and not the ICFAI one. Also, I would like to add one more thing... try to clear your level one during or before ur MBA....it will help u a lot during ur placements in MBA.....
