is CFAI also giving some discount to the INDIAN candidates who have to go abroad and take the exam (like the 300 $ they gave in last exams?)
has anybody registered for the JUNE exam? what is the total fees that is to be payed? on the final page of registration(just before the Credit Card details) it says abt some discount of 317$ and asks for some offer codes, but the total price is still 1078 $ :(
can somebody please explain this?

I have cleared my L1 (wrote in Dec 2007) and now plan to take L2 this June. All those who have cleared their L2, can you please tell me if this is realistic or am i being too optimistic...
Also, suggest me a realistic study plan and precautions which need to be kept in mind when i start my L2 prep...

Yes you can pass the Level 2 exam if you start now.In fact this is the ideal time as you will not face any burnout issues ,I had begun my preps around that time only.
Take care of the Accounting part though it is reckoned as one of the toughest parts in the entire CFA curriculum and has a very high weightage in the L2 exam.
Now aall btechs running after cfa also just like mba:nervous:.

there are no restricitions for such courses and hence can be pursued by an 1...
also not all btech guys are frm IIT's and hence not really brainy..
rather v commerce guys have a benefit of having read atlst some portion of the course
atlst v knw wat FM is all about, wats economics...
try to reap this benefits and let the btechs be...
dont b afraid of those guys...

Thank God we can register for CFA now. I would now register for L1 in June, even though it means travelling abroad and giving the exam. If things go really well and Indian centers are later allowed, we can change our test center to India (before March 17 2008 ). Experienced Puys, correct me if I am wrong here.
Anybody from Hyderabad taking CFA Level I in June 2008? We can discuss and plan for the exam and for the travel together. I stay in Hyderabad and right now I think Colombo is the best option.
BTW, does anyone know where to get the Schweser L1 2008 notes at Hyderabad? Also, I would like to know if the CFA study material that we get along with the registration is sufficient or not?

NEW DELHI: US-based Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute has approached the division bench of Delhi High Court challenging the single bench order disallowing it from conducting examinations in India.
The matter was listed for hearing on Monday but was adjourned to February 11 after counsel for CFA apprised a bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Reva Khetrapal that senior counsel Soli Sorabjee could not appear as he was unwell.
The Institute has also sought quashing of technical education regulator AICTE's May 18, 2007 order directing it to cease its operations in the country with immediate effect.
Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India (ICFAI), on whose appeal AICTE had passed the directive, has also been made a party to the case.
