hi friends,
can anybody suggest me a coaching institute for CFA Level 1 preparation. I stay in bangalore.

Nope this is no way possible this time.As i was thinking about registering from a Nepal address and taking the exam over there.
But thats not possible. As Indian Work/ex, Indian Education Qualification etc. etc. all contradict it and in the long run(L2,L3, CFA charter ) we would require all of them.
I am also pasting a reply that i got from CFA insti)
Thank you for contacting us regarding the CFA Program. The court order currently prohibits us from operating the CFA Program in India, so we are unable to accept registrations or enrollments from anyone in that country. This includes individuals who are willing to sit in a foreign test center.
We are currently awaiting the High Courts decision, and will post information on any further developments to our website at www.cfainstitute.org/india.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

hi people
i am an entrepreneur,a graduate in commerce, with 2 years of entrepreneurship experience, and i have a decent cat score of 98.38 with balanced sectionals
i am planning to pursue mba from any among sp jain(mum,singapore,dubai)mdi,imt-ghz,nmims,scmhrd,sibm provided i convert my calls from these instis
now my area of interest is international business particularly global logistics
would it be a good idea for me to pursue cfa with/without an mba to enhance my profile because i do want to work for 2-3 years after doing my mba
do you people think that for an individual not interested in a career in financial consulting or investment banking, cfa would provide value addition..
any suggestions would be highly appreciated

In view of the above post... i.e. since CFA Instt. is not eccepting registrations form "Indian Nationals" how do you plan to register and take the test??...
(Unless, of course, you have already registered earlier and they have accepted it..)
Just enquiring... thanks!
hiya :sleepy:
one quick question,
ref: CFA book 2(Economics) study session 4 , last reading assingment , questions at the end
there are 2 questions wherein some data is given and you have to answer if the firm should still continue production with the machine in question.
some facts ( all figures are yearly)
a) depriciation = 50000 anually ..
cost of production except dep : 6,00,000
revenue from that machine 6,50,000
machine cost xxx and 4th year running now
so shall the firm continue production from the mc?
so here operation cost= operating revenue
b) depriciation = 100000 anually ..
cost of production except dep : 6,00,000
revenue from that machine 6,50,000
machine cost xxx and 4th year running now
so shall the firm continue production from the mc?
so here operation cost > operating revenue .. so its running at net loss of 50Ks pa
but the answer is yes in both cases ... I just dont understand how?:x

hi fringant,
all the best for ur 2nd round interviews..
Two kinds of ppl take cfa exam.. 1. Engineers who wants to switch to fin career 2. ca/commerce grads to increase their market value. In both cases CFA helps in establishing credibility of yours in fin area. But since you don't want a career in fin consulting/inv banking i really doubt how much cfa will help u,, especially in global logistics.. i don't have much idea about GL, i wud suggest u to check the CFA curriculum in CFA website (CFA Institute Home) and decide further whether to appear in the test (anyway, taking cfa by Indian candidates is not allowed at this moment)..
about your second question when to write the exam - CFA is a 3 level process and this is the way mba students take the test.. L1 in 1st year (keeping in eye next year's campus recruitment process), L2 after one year and L3 after taking 2-3 years of industry experience. L1 is the easiest of the three and can be taken with regular studies in mba..
hope this clarifies some of ur doubts..
Hey fringant,
I totally agree with bissvr. If your are looking for value addition towards an international business profile, CFA will probably not be a good option. But having said that, in case you need to develop a good background in Finance in terms of fundamentals of different asset classes - equity, derivatives and fixed income, CFA Level 1 will be a good option. The subsequent levels go more into Portfolio Management.
So it is not necessary for you to look at completing all three levels. Go upto the level you think will help you enhance your knowledge. The curriculum is available at the cfa website. It might not be a very good value addition in terms of getting better job prospects but the fact that you would have studied for CFA will give you an insight into finance and will definitely be a value add in terms of knowledge.
Since registration for CFA in India is banned as of now, incase you get a chance to join a B-School in Dubai or Singapore, you can take advantage of that and appear for your CFA.

I guess this answers a lot of questions 😞
Hi All,
Since ban on Indian candidate for taking CFA exam is still taking a toll.
I have a query to ask.
Being a citizen of India can we as a whole not put the notice to Delhi High court or query in Greviences dept. of govt. of india.
May this will fasten the process and save our precious time and year.

If ICFAI has bribed AICTE and delhi high court judges, then nothing is going to happen. It is not the best thing in life to be a citizen of India.
The whole world is laughing on India. I wonder why every mess takes place in India.

hey growup n increase ur noledge b4 sayin nythin...u r on public platform...if u hav dat much problem in india den leave it no body 'll giv a damn...
is cfa more valued than ca if u want to make a career in financial market firms??????
i am repenting leaving ca now and i gonna rip apart cfa this time even if i have to work 20 hrs a day
yeah i think cfa is a more appropriate course for getting into financial markets than ca
ca is much more related to accounts, tax and all tht...
cfa is a dedicated course for fin markets with expert knowledge of equity, derivatives , valuation etc being expected from candidates....
Cheers
Kartik
