i am sure courts cant take away ur write to pursue a course from anywhere as it would be against ur fundamental rights . i mean they can ask cfa not to operate in india but they cant ask us that we cannot absolutely pursue the course
it is up to the cfa now ; if and when would they allow indian students to register and appear from nepal or sri lanka .
anyhow which are the best options apart from cfa ????

yes, i absolutely agree.. let's wait for next step from CFA, there should be some arrangement for indian students to take test.. anyway what are the alternative exams, other than cfa?

xerox copies of study material is available in a few book stores for around 1000 bucks.. i don't know about pune but can give you details in mumbai..
till that time u can download study materials from here

till now indian students are not allowed, but we expect CFA institute will come up with a solution like allowing to appear exam in outside countries..

26 December Update
We have now received an uncertified copy of the written opinion (PDF) of the Delhi High Court dismissing our writ petition against the AICTEs 18 May 2007 order. While we are still quite disappointed in the result, we have been carefully reviewing it to determine our future course of action in India.
CFA Institute is reaching out to the AICTE to apply for registration of the CFA Program in India. We look forward to working with the AICTE to ensure candidates can resume their career development and pursuit of the CFA designation. At the same time, we are also considering an appeal of the decision in order to preserve important legal rights.
Unfortunately, at this time we are still unable to accept exam registrations from candidates within India. As always, we will continue to provide updates and additional information on this web page.
hey guyz i believe lot of us r starting d preparation hoping dat the registration would be open this june...even i hope for the same..just wanted to knw how useful would be the 2007 material to prepare for june 2008 L1 or do i need to buy d new material........

no idea boss, aboslutely no idea how much time it'll take for the reconciliation phase.. we ALL sincerely hope everything gets sorted out soon and we get to appear in the June exam.

i have downloaded all the 6 chapters on the website mentioned by u, is this enuff for clearing L1 with good % ?
these are the schweser material for CFA usually followed by masses, which are enuff for L1.. still u can form a study group to gather other notes for cfa..
no idea whn thats comin.... we just have to keep a watch...
