I'm receiving a lot of queries pertaining to payment, thus i'm addressing the concern in forum. CFA institute has 3 deadlines.

Also, the most convenient form of payment is thru Credit Card.
since the payment is in $ the bank levy a currency conversion charge of 3.5% to 4% on the total amount in INR.

Also, I faced a lot of issued when i was registering 4 my L1 i din had a credit card that time with the required Credit limit.
If any1 is facing the same issue, lemme me knw, if cd be of any help

I have 3.5 yrs of managerial experience in the banking sector. Retail banking to be specific. I have given CAT 3 times but unable to fetch IIM calls. This year too, with no IIM calls ,I have managed to convert IMT GHAZIABAD PGDM (Finance) this year.
Though I am a B.E. (Electronics) but since I have served in the banking sector, I opted for FINANCE.
I shall be grateful if someone could enlighten me
1)How CFA could bring value addition to my career after MBA Finance?
2)Will banking sector , then MBA Finance and then CFA will be in line?
3)Is it possible to persue CFA along with MBA? I personally feel I should rather take one thing at a time.

Thanks & Regards
Abhi

@infotech
dude i am going to get into your shoes..i will give bank po exam & after that i will give cat 2 years later..& want to pursue mba in finance..along with cfa..

can u plz give me some genuine suggestion about the life of po..work load..do we get time for extra studies..whats the total monthly income of a po..
in which bank u r working??& whats your total salary/month..plzz reply..or pm me..its very urgent..

Here's a lateral thought...

Forget about MBA. Try to concentrate on your banking career and try to pick up areas in banking that would enhance your future prospects eg. credit, corporate, treasury, risk etc

Simultaneously work on CFA. After 4-5 years, go in for Exec MBA from a high repute institute - you will be able to afford it also, your chances will be brighter with banking experience and CFA under your belt, and it will be a major career changer. Then you will be a CFA and a high brand MBA.

Don't chase the package... have patience and let the package chase you.

i am planning for the same..
but instead of executive mba i will focus on regular full time MBA..from a good mba college..
there is a chance that i will give gmat after 2.5 years..& try to join a good foreign business school if they will count my banking career as work ex..so that i can join foreign bank..the point of concern is just my acads..i had scored only 55.2% in my 12th(cbse)..i think that will be the biggest obstacle in my career..but i will try to cope up that with my cfa degree..hope all will b well..

do the foreign banks hire the indian banking mangers if they have done cfa from india and mba from good business school..??

Can any one please suggest any coaching classes in Mumbai for cfa.
I have googled a few of them but its confusing which one to join..?
i would greatfull if anyone could shed a light on this matter
regards

This is quite a random question . See CFA alone doesn't fetch a good job . May be CFA L2/L3 with MBA degree in decent college might fetch you a job you want .

Getting a job in banks depends on

1) Educational Background (UG/PG)
2) Prior relevant work ex
3) certification like CFA/FRM .

The bottom line is think before you do CFA . What exactly you want from the course .

Good thoughts...
One suggestion - do not plan for CFA and MBA alongside... some people do it and it is total burnout for some. Also you may end up doing injustice to your MBA. Later in life you might reflect and think that you should have picked up all the wonderful skills, case studies, presentations and rigorous variety that MBA has to offer.
CFA is more of self discipline and you can do it later / earlier.

CFA is dedication personified - All the best and try to find a solution for your lower marks earlier - good grad scores (?)

To add on - Foreign banks would look at brand, attitude and confidence.

Do not have sanctimonious expectations from CFA. It is nothing more or less than an expression of your seriousness and dedication towards a profession in Finance / Investments. How you project it to the person across the table will matter tremendously.

Most people do it along with MBA only.......if you are interested go for it or even better join your college, see how hectic life is there and then give June 2013 exam
