If you have a basic knowledge of commerce (accounts economics) then you wont be having any problem..for CFA 2hrs a day will help you a lot..you will be having lots of time after GMAT so you can utilise that time...
ya i have learnt principlei of economics in my class 12th and in college also so the concept of micro and macro wont take much time as far as accounting is cncern i have done 4 modules of ncfm .vishal das SaysIf you have a basic knowledge of commerce (accounts economics) then you wont be having any problem..for CFA 2hrs a day will help you a lot..you will be having lots of time after GMAT so you can utilise that time...

Hi,
Your knowledge will definitely help you while pursuing CFA. And MBA (Fin) + CFA makes a good combo 😉
As far as the difficulty is concerned, I think 250 hrs would be sufficient or even more than enough for you to clear L1 (mentioned on CFA Insti website). As far as I know, you don't need mad quant skills to be through with L1. There are other areas too which are equally or more important i.e. Ethics. Someone even mentioned that if one is through with ethics, one is through with L1 :)
I hope this answers your query. Good Luck for L1
P.S. : Just one question, have you determined how you're gonna utilize your CFA or you're following the herd? If you're not following the herd, Good Luck 😃 Else, I'd suggest to opt for other certificates.
not sure what your question is actually .......u said u r interested in a CFA ....what does "interest" mean ? just because every other person does it ??? or u want to add value ?? from what i can infer from yr statements is u dont have a work ex and doing an MBA right out of college .........let me be a little sarcastic if u allow me to be 😃 -please think through things clearly as in what u wish to actually do in yr life ......from your words in the post , it seems to me that you have not thought through ....why u want to do an CFA .....the day u have the clarity , u won't need to ask anyone the above question ....u will simply work towards yr aim and do it !!
Hey Puyz,
How can we connect to those who have completed their CFA?
I mean, is there any group / website / forum / directory where we can find their profiles and contact them? Not only just charter holders, but also those have completed all 3 levels. Also, is there a way we can find such guys from our respective cities?
I am seeking some guidance and I'd like to know some things from them.
There were some groups in ORKUT, some in GOOGLE. Not sure how active they are. Could try face book too.

I found some CFAs from CFA insti's India website.
On LinkedIn there is a group "Investment Professionals in India" or something similar. Many members, in this group, are CFA holders.
Not sure if there is something like this on FB. Let me know if you come across one 😃
I was going through the exam centers, and didn't find one in India. Did I miss something ?
Can anyone shed some light on this ?!
June Test Center Locations

Hey Puys,
I have few questions regarding CFA. Was hoping if you could help me out.
1. is it required to have other study materials than the ones provided by CFA institute? If yes, can someone suggest how to fetch 'em in Delhi!
2. how much time is required to prepare for CFA L1. I am planning exam in June 2012. have basic finance/eco knowledge from college courses, score 99 percentile in CAT and can spare about 16 hours a week in preparation.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Bharat

generally,schweser notes are used..
also 2-2.5 months of preparation would suffice

Recently i read on facebook where someone had written that CFA + FRM is a very good option. He wrote that CFA level 2 + FRM will fetch a stipend of about 30lacs per annum. Can anyone shed some more light on this. How much compensation can a CFA level 2 with and without FRM and CFA all three levels expect. What are the chances of landing up an international job? Can a person with CFA enter the field of investment banking?
Anyone from delhi appearing for CFA?
