You cannot take the exam in December. You can write it in June 2012 at the earliest.

Yes you can appear for CFA Level 1 provided u have completed ur graduation...nd the 4 years experience is required to get the CFA membership certificate...which one gets after clearing all the levels and a minimum 4 years of experience..

The preparation time depends on ur educational background..please specify that...and for the sample tests you can purchase of schweser and once u register with CFA Institute they provide u the sample papers....

My wife is a BCom with Accountancy honours and MCom in Accounts and Finance.
She has also cleared level 1 CFA.She is now starting to look for Jobs as a fresher though she has one year teaching experience in Accounts in a school.
What kind of job prospects she would have and what are the kind of roles she would go for as a fresher in accounts/finance ?
