hey it does make sense to have an advanced knowledge in finance and then go for mba in finance, in mba u get 2 learn a lot of other things other than finance. but doing cfa without any prior knowledge in finance might be a problematic. according 2 me its better to join mba and then do cfa side by side
HI guys,
I've schweser notes for CFA level 1 and am ready to sell it really cheap.
Notes r 100% fresh and unused...
PM me for more details...
the actual psot is below!! goofed up while posting !
hey hii guys, I am Kaustubh. I needed a suggestion, if any one can help me it would be really great.
First of all as far as my background is concerned, I am a BSc. degree holder from Mumbai University and have worked in a leading Financial Services company for about 19 months in sales. I appeared for CAT for the first time in 2010 and scored 83+ %ile. Not enough to get me a good B school let alone the best. As i am in no hurry to push through my MBA I am thinking of reappearing for my mba entrance and see if i can score better and land a good B school. For my prepartion of CAT i had given up my job as it was very difficult for me to focus on sales as well as studies. So off late there has been a stagnancy in my status.
In the mean time i came across the CFA program and grew in interest towards the same . I checked on their (CFA I) website and have come to know about their registration procedure and scheduling stuff. There is a dilemma though, i have come across many things except for the actual study material or even the Schweser notes. Before making the purchase of any kind or registration for that matter, i would like to see the study material and gauge if indeed it is my cup of tea. Can any one help me in this? From where can i get access to the study material? Does anyone have a soft copy that can be mailed just to have an idea of it?
Also as i have not manged an admission call as yet for any B school, it is very likely that i will try and take up a job( probably not in sales coz again the timing issue will come to the fore) and thus might just be able to devote a limited time for the studies. Is it possible for me to target DECEMBER 2011 exams? It would be of great help if some one can shed some more light on this issue.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am a Software Engineer working in one of the best IT Company (with handsome salary i guess) from last one month. I found out about CFA from their website and have gone through this entire thread. I am interested in CFA (and MBA in Finance after that). I have following doubts.
1. Is syllabus for June CFA Level one and December Level different?
2. are Schweser 5 books sufficient for preparation for level one?
3. As i am working in IT Company, will CFA (suppose 2 levels cleared till i get into MBA college) + experience in IT Company will raise questions over my profile as Work Exp. in IT Company and CFA have mostly nothing in common?
Great News puys....
Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi are now added as the centers for June 2011 Level 1st Exam....
Check out-

The Delhi High Court has given us permission to hold the CFA exam at test centers in India on Sunday, 05 June 2011. In all test centers, seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please visit www.cfainstitute.org/india for the latest updates.
A Query,
I don't have a passport and as the centers are now in India only so I don't think I'll be needing it. But they are asking Passport number and stuff for registration. What to do?

Vikramraj SaysHas CFA conducted its exam in India anytime in the past? I Heard sometime back the exam was conducted at Mumbai. Are there any chances of indian cities being added as test centres for June and Dec '11 exams, i mean if to ask it has happened in the near past.
Finally got my hands on CFA curriculum books, Schweser notes 2011, Schweser Question bank Pro 2011 and Stalla notes 2011
.. I am planning to give the exam in Dec 2011.. But, as anyone can see, no exam center from India has been listed for Dec exams.. When I asked frens, some of them said it's the same every year. They will be listed after the first dead line.. Is it true? If not, I might as well go for June exams.. Please reply quick as the second deadline for June is approaching pretty quick..
If anybody wants Schweser notes or CFA books in PDF form (Free of cost) please PM me
Thanks
