Need some Opinions on CFA

hi i want to reappear for level-1 in june as i cud nt appear i dec..due 2 some personal reasons...how can i do so...
and will there be any fee discount...?

This year for june fee has been incresed to USD 1145. You may apply for scholarships through different cfa societies or if u r teaching in some college as a full time proffesor or any proffesor of your college is himself a CFA .

I have done my BMS..& m planning for Cfa for june attempt. After clearing 2 levels your salary will be close to $50000. Do Cfa only if you are intrested in finance..

if you talking about India,people generally join equity research with Indian locations of Banks with salaries close to 7,00,000 inr.(getting such jobs is difficult in the first place)
and I am skeptical with regards American firms giving you American placements solely on basis of CFA L2

i am looking forward to do cfa.i have done bsc non med then done mba fin.so dint get any good job in finance.and working in a co.in its marketing so want to have an idea coz i want to make my career in fin.so plz suggest me the right way.

Hi again,
I finally got my schweser notes from bombay with the calculator(not proffessional one but BA 2+). can u guide me with how to go about the preparations . to give u my background i dont know anything about finance, economics or accounting and will have to start from basics. so want to know if i should directly start with schweser or start with something else . and am registering before 16th feb will i get india as a preference ?
waiting for reply.
In general want how to go about the preparations and how many hours of prep is required and if full cfa institute notes are required for any subjects .

Hi..i am going to enroll for cfa in feb..basically if you are interested in analysis and core finance then go ahead and enroll..but remember its not an easy course..you have to devote at least 5 hrs for studies. if you want to know more log on to cfa's website..tc

Hi..its not an easy course..but if u pass world is under your feet..there r great career opportunities ahead..you should buy schweser notes and start reading..i am trying to make study group for cfa if u r interested then you are welcome to join.

Hi..its not an easy course..but if u pass world is under your feet..there r great career opportunities ahead..you should buy schweser notes and start reading..i am trying to make study group for cfa if u r interested then you are welcome to join.

Hi

I will be joining TCS next month and I'm interested in giving CFA but some people have told me that I won't be able to prepare CFA along with the job though I think I can do it since I can take out around 2 hrs everyday for this. Also, if I clear Level2, will I be able to get a research analyst or equity analyst job?

Did u get d notes n calci frm Laxmi copy center, mumbai n hw much did it cost u?

hey people...m graduating this year frm engineering.. i've got placement in infosys which m gonna join this october. i appeared for cat..didn't go well.. so m thinkin of joining infy and preparing for CFA starting now.. so please guide me is it benificial or simply futile for an engg with no knowledge of investrment or commerce terms to prepare for CFA...i ve got 11 months though..

I am a B.tech in electronics from a reputed institute now working in a IT company in insurance domain..I am giving CFA level 1 this june...With B.tech,CFA L1 and a year experience in IT(Insurance domain)..could I find a job in a financial firm..if so what would be the likely salary package and designation..

to make up your mind for cfa

1) whats cfa..?
2) how it will help you..?
3)what kind of role you want in finance and does cfa gets you that ?
4)what are your long term goals and short term goals ?

ans question no- 3 and 4 first and than relate your ans to the ans of 1 and 2..for any further query pm me..!

According to the pdf available on CFA institute, there are no centers in India at the moment and there are slim chances of one getting announced later. Theoretically, however that possibility can't be ruled out either.

Has CFA conducted its exam in India anytime in the past? I Heard sometime back the exam was conducted at Mumbai. Are there any chances of indian cities being added as test centres for June and Dec '11 exams, i mean if to ask it has happened in the near past.

It was held in india last december ( mumbai , delhi,bangalore, kolkatta) ..

u might get the notice from cfa ppl in the early march if its held in india ..

its better u book as off now and then hope that there will be centre in india

after that u can swap your centre

its better u book as off now and then hope that there will be centre in india after that u can swap your centre :thumbsup:

Can we swap exam centres after we have registered?
What will be the last date of doing so ,suppose it's case of dec2011????????????????

Chennai center is already available for June2011 among other Indian Cities
