There is this guy in Gurgaon...his name is Manindar and he supplies CFA books & notes for a reasonable amount. You may call him up and take the details 9968575320
You really don't require to take coaching. Stalla finishes the enire course in 18 classes. dat is 1 session each class. So the entire eco will be covered in a day an dat will go over your head too. Instead just take any prep provider notes..schweser or stalla ...and finish the syllabus from there..for ethics & economics do it from the CFA institute books. I started my preparation in mid february still managed to clear level 1 in June last year. If I can....everybody can 😃

hello
i m doing mba (core) will it be advisable for me to do cfa as i m looking to do my major(specialization) in finance ,
my background is engineering ,also hear that companies in my stream do prefer an added value like this and also
which one to do cfa international or this icfai one and one more thing that as i m in my first year atmost i will be doing 2 levels so is it make sense for me or not .
thanx a ton.
if you plan to specialize in Finance it's advisable u go for this course...the best part is that level 1 will contain everything that you will learn in ur mba. so the preparation for both can happen simultaneously. ICFAI or CFA (US) is a highly debatable topic I don't want to get into that. CFA US will give you international recognition which ICFAI might not be able to give. I am a level 2 candidate and all I can say is that the programme is very well structured and interesting
MBA_Must:
The web site adarreview.com has a free practice exam. Also, they have a discount for people taking the CFA exam this December. You can get an online membership for $40. You must use the coupon code: 1209FRM40
I think that the web site is very helpful to practice before the exam.
Best of luck.
Hey guys...CFA Institute offers 1 Free sample exam & 1 Mock sample exam. Make sure you all attempt them before moving onto paid tests like the one suggested
Hello Friends....
The basic requirements for participation in the CFA program include holding or being in the final year of a university degree (or equivalent as assessed by the CFA Institute), or having four years of qualified, professional work experience in an investment decision-making process. In order to obtain the charter, however, a candidate must have completed a university degree (or equivalent) and four years of qualified, professional work experience, in addition to passing the three exams that test the academic portion of the CFA program
Thanks

what if i'm not able to complete the course till the exam date. what would i do then. i mean can i get my dates postponed.?
can somebody give me pointers regarding cfa(icfai)?

If you are doing CFA then there is really no point in doing a PGDM in Finance. An mba in finance is more like a mile wide & 100 feet deep...with CFA it is more like 100 feet wide & a mile deep.

There will be a lot of redundancy in your finance courses which you will do in PGDM. But then PGDM (finance) is not all about finance. First year courses cover all the areas. So you'll learn a lot about the various fields. And the experience of doing an MBA is much better than studying for CFA exams by yourself. They just can't be compared. The experience of working in a team, the various competitions and events that will happen, competing with other students in acads, sports etc... You won't get all this while doing your CFA.
I had the same question some time back but then realized that it makes a lot of sense to do both. Many top companies encourage their employees to take up CFA. So you might well have to do it later. It's better to do it now and then be one of the FIN studs in college 😃
Looking forward to hear from others regarding this.
aniruddhamkj Saysplanning to chnage it but wat kind of job will i get after cfa??package n growth??? sorry asking basic things bt i don't know much about cfa:-(
CFA level 1 will help you in getting interview calls nothing more than that. Package depends on your profile & the company but you can safely assume it to be around 5-6 for aft level 1. around 7-8 after level 2. I do not have much idea about level 3 and beyond. The kind of job you will get ranges from equity research to brokerage & investment banking.
I am a B.Tech EE grad and will enroll for ICWA inter. I am also planning to do dist MBA in finance from IMT ghaziabad. I want to know whether CFA will add value to my profile or just d MBA will do.......my aim is to work in Banks in INDIA....plz suggest

If your aim is to work in banks in India, you should concentrate your efforts in cracking the bank PO exams. SBI has started a MT programme this year which is a notch above the regular PO. CFA will add much more value than a Distance learning programme will. Anybody who is confused whether he/she should or should not do a CFA. My suggestion is to see the types of jobs a CFA typically typically gets & then decide whether they want to do that for the rest of their lives. Second advice is to get hold of the curriculum from somewhere and go over it and then see whether it can be done or not. I know of many people who enrolled and then just discontinued. Even in the exam there are 25% no shows. So just decide and aft that plunge in right away, because the programme is very demanding.
aniruddhamkj Sayswat kind of profile is req ..can u plz elaborate...I am a comp engg from NIT graduated dis year...nw wat will be req?
There is no fixed answer to your 1st query so I cannot elaborate. All that is required is an international credit card to pay the fees. You do not need to submit anything else. Go to the career section of ubs, de shaw, irevna etc. you will get a clearer idea of the profile these cos look for.
