Hi,
I am currently studying for CFA level1. I t am not sure if it is the right forum but hope to get some guidance here. I am embedded software professional and want to take up work in financial modelling i.e., making models for financial markets based on stoichastic theory or further maths but CFA syllabus doesnot target this area.
Do you know any other course which cover this?
Thanks,
Nikhil

30 March 2009 Update
The hearing for the appeal by CFA Institute to resume holding CFA Program examinations in India began on 1 December 2008, and is continuing. Hearings were held recently on 18 March 2009. We had a conference in judge's chambers today and another conference will be held on 2 April. Our legal team continues to make every effort to resolve this issue.

Hey all aspirants,
Check out
CFA Institute in India
The exam is allowed to be conducted in India this june.
ATB
Yes it is a great relief for aspirants....
The great news is given below:
2 April 2009 Update
The Delhi High Court has permitted CFA Institute to hold the June 2009 CFA exams in India, and we will be opening a test center in Mumbai. Any June 2009 candidates from India who did not receive the 2 April 2009 e-mail asking if they would like to take the CFA exam on Sunday, 7 June 2009 in Mumbai should contact us to request a test center change.
No action is necessary for candidates who elect to take the exam at their original test center. The court has not ruled on the December 2009 CFA exam. Our legal team continues to make every effort to resolve this issue
Hi there...
This is my first post and I have spent hours reading the previous ones. The picture about pursuing CFA is still shady in my mind..... If anybody of you can guide me in the right direction considering the following academics of mine.... it will e really appreciated....
1) First of all I have done petrochemical engineering
2) I am just about to complete my International MBA from liverpool ... I took CORPORATE FINANCE as elective in my second sem.
3) The main problem first of all i wasn from the commerce background.. secondly the concepts of finance are still shaky in my mind..... although I cleared the paper but it was not satisfying at all....
So what I want to know is that .... I just have a basic 11th and 12th class accounts and finance knowledge.... ... and if I am starting from a scratch is it advisable for me to Pursue CFA......
If the answer is YES.... than which one is advisable the international or the indian version.........
Any advice is welcomed as I am already a confused guy and the present situation is a total mess....
Thanks
