A new query. Am considering NIBM (national institute of banking management, Pune) for PGDM program. Is it worth to take a loss of pay leave (currently bank PO in IOB bank) and do the PGDM in banking and finance? The placement report show placements in PSBs and private banks in verticals like Treasury, forex, Risk management etc.. Kindly advice? I need to appear for the ATMA/CMAT in Feb 2014 for entry to NIBM....

2.Prepare for competitive exam for 12 hours for 6 months. basics and rules. Dnt rush to apply at this stage, dnt divert mind, read newspaper daily.
3.gv an exam Po or clerk, get experience of online exam.apply ssc cgl.
4.If u get po good,but give a clerk exam,you will clear sure.Give ssc cgl tier 1.
5.Now you have either Po or clerk job in hand, getting a job soon after studies will boost your confidence. If your score in cgl is +150 opt bank clerk for joining else go for PO
6.join bank.give tier 2,interview,get interview post, even if u get auditor will be better than the present job.Very few chances you get sick or unable to get NIP or IP.Even if some unfortunate events hpns like cancellation you still havea secured job and can try for next year peacefuly.
7.Bank-ssc- now study for IAS. Never jumb directly to ssc or IAS.Get job first, get financially and mentaly strong and then The most sought aftr job.ATB

After btech in 2009 from an IIT got campus placement and worked for a little more than 2 years; then left my 40k+ job in oct/2011 to prepare for ias examination. Couldnt clear ias-pre in 2012. Cleared ibps2(got Union Bank, Jaunpur UP) but could not join as joining dates clashed with IAS 2013 pre(couldnt get required extension). Didnt appear for ibps3. Cleared ibps4, cgl re2013 Interview post and writing mains IAS 2014. Meanwhile when this all happened age also crossed 28. Chances are bleak that I will clear mains this time. cgl 2013 will take at least an year to complete.
Its been more than 3 years out of job.
Leaving my IT job is turning out to be the worst decision of my life. I was so confident of clearing ias exam but now after 3 years I have come to know what I am lacking.
Is it possible that I get interview calls from IT company after being out of job for more than 3 years. I am thinking to give 1-2 months for brushing up my IT skills(java/dbms/system administration) and prepare according to some openings.
SBI is giving 4 increments compared to other PSB's will those 4 increments stay even after we move to scale 2 . So will the basic of scale 2 be starting at 19400 or 21800. Asking for curiosity's sake?
